Overall Cotton Yields In Xinjiang Showed A Downward Trend In 2015.
Recently, the Xinjiang development and Reform Commission (NDRC) made an investigation and analysis of the cost and income of cotton production in 401 survey households (including the Xinjiang production and Construction Corps) in 37 investigated counties (cities) of the whole region.
The results show that compared with 2014, 2015
Xinjiang
Cotton production in Uygur Autonomous Region is generally decreasing, production costs slightly increased, purchase prices down and profits declining.
1. Yield per mu decreased.
In 2015, the average cotton yield per mu was 108.21 kg, which dropped by 14.13 kg compared with the previous year, a decrease of 11.55%.
The main reasons for the decline are: first, the high temperature sunshine in the autonomous region for nearly a month since July of this year.

The top peaches peeling off in advance, and the yield decreased. Two, because of the weather in some areas, the planting period was pushed back, and at the same time affected by the high temperature in July, cotton irrigation water was not enough in some areas. Three, the production of cotton farmers in some areas was not well managed, resulting in a decline in production.
Two. The average production cost per mu is slightly increased.
In 2015, the average cost of cotton per mu in the autonomous region was 2119.55 yuan, an increase of 8.33 yuan compared with the previous year, an increase of 0.39%.
Among them: (1) the production cost is 1747.84 yuan, an increase of 27.94 yuan over the previous year, an increase of 1.62%.
(two) the cost of land is 371.39 yuan, a decrease of 19.61 yuan compared with last year and a decrease of 5.02% yuan.
In 2015, the cost of cotton per mu planting in autonomous region fluctuated little compared with that of last year.
The price of chemical fertilizer, agricultural film, seed and other agricultural products fluctuated little, including chemical fertilizer slightly lower than that of last year. The cost of pickup was lower than that of last year.
Three, cotton purchase price decline, Mu output value decline, net profit decline.
In 2015, the average selling price per kilogram of lint was 11.18 yuan, a decrease of 1.55 yuan compared with the previous year, a decrease of 12.18%.
The main reason for the decline in the purchase price is: first, the national cotton target price is reduced to 19100 yuan / ton, while the price of the cotton market fluctuates greatly, and the cotton purchasing enterprise is in a state of "cautious wait and see".
Two, the quality of cotton decreased, the proportion of 26 millimeters -27 millimeters increased, and the proportion of cotton with 28 millimeters or more decreased. The number of cotton clones in early stage increased from 4.8 to more than 5, and the breaking strength of cotton decreased from 28-29 to 26-27.
In 2015, the output value per mu was 1468.92 yuan, a decrease of 382.26 yuan compared with the previous year, a decrease of 20.65%.
Net profit per mu decreased by 357.73 yuan compared with the previous year (including subsidized income, and subsidy income temporarily calculated by 444.39 yuan per mu in 2014), a decrease of 150.39%.
Four, several suggestions to promote cotton production in the autonomous region.
(1) increase the promotion of modern agricultural technology.
In recent years, the promotion of water-saving irrigation technology in cotton fields has been intensified.
Cotton farmers widely use water-saving engineering technology, which can effectively alleviate farmland drought, crops grow significantly better than conventional irrigation plots, and effectively enhance the ability of cotton to withstand natural disasters. It fully shows the advantages of high and new water-saving projects such as water saving, fertilizer saving, labor saving, labor saving and increasing production. It will play an important role in maintaining long-term stability and sustainable development of cotton production in autonomous regions.
At the same time, from the increasing proportion of labor cost to total cost of cotton production in recent years, it is suggested that the popularization of machine picked cotton should be increased and the cost of cotton production can be reduced.
(two) speed up the circulation of rural land and improve the intensive management of rural land.
Reducing cotton production costs
To enhance the competitiveness of agricultural products in autonomous regions.
(three) the difference of cotton planting level between the southern and Northern Xinjiang in Xinjiang is large and the output is very different. It is suggested that the cotton subsidy level should be raised in some areas of Southern Xinjiang.
