In a small courtyard outside the Fifth Ring Road of Beijing, there is a handmade shoe factory that few know about.

Compared to the production line of tens of thousands of pairs of shoes in the production line, less than 20 teachers in the customized shoe factory can only make 5 pairs of shoes a day even if they do their best. The most complicated manual sewing part is "one inch 5 needles", and it takes more than a month to make a pair of shoes.

Ma Xueping is the oldest veteran technician of the 1928 brand of the old Badaling shoe factory. He is 62 years old.

In 1956, 36 private shoe shops in the bustling Wangfujing street were public-private and merged into a state-run leather shoe factory, Dongdan shoe factory in Beijing.

After the 60s of last century, he began to serve the public in the factories after public and private joint ventures. He produced batch of leather shoes in batch, and made private custom shoes for Zhou Enlai, Chen Yi and many other party and state leaders. After that, he changed his name to Badaling shoe factory.

In the 80s of last century, Badaling shoe factory was once an important enterprise of Beijing's export earning foreign exchange.

At that time, the factory had changed the glue shoes, and the handmade shoes had hardly been produced, because the trouble of making the handmade shoes had not so much economic benefit.

In the 90s of last century, Ma Xueping was given a pair of hand-made shoes. He felt very comfortable and comfortable when he put on his shoes.

He didn't throw these shoes out.

With such shoes, why not make it? At that time, in 1994, the shoe factory in Badaling had already been disintegrated. Ma Xue Ping decided to resume the old craft, which was 20 years.

"Compared with the past, regular shoes and shoes are now generally extended, which is for good-looking."

When making shoes, usually walking on the road, Ma Xueping is paying attention to whether the shoes of the pedestrians can be used for reference, and seeing a pair of good shoes will even follow others far away.

The order is complex. We need to tailor the tailor to make the exclusive shoe last. Goodyear sewing method is used for sewing, and there are dozens of processes before and after.

Compared with the hand-made shoes abroad, the shoes in the shoe workshop have improved the craft.

Ma Xueping said that many foreign brands of hand-made shoes are more rigid. In order to make the shoes more rigid, he experimented for 4 or 5 years. Finally, a special "bristle" was added to the soles to solve the problem.

In recent years, a teacher like Ma Xueping has been engaged in a simple but dull job in shoe factories.

Cao Yuling, a 50 year old foot measuring master, has worked for 30 years, and is Ma Xueping's favorite pupil.

The first step is to calculate and analyze the foot shape and skeleton of each customer, and observe the walking habits of customers, and finally get accurate data.

Fu Jun, 53, is a professional tailor. His father is the elder of the shoe factory in Badaling.

After he inherited his father's career, he specialized in cutting materials for 34 years.

The shoe workshop can produce 1500 pairs of hand-made shoes every year, but this sales volume can only maintain basic operation.

If we want to develop, first, the shortage of personnel, young people nowadays can hardly afford to be lonely and unwilling to engage in monotonous manual labor.

The other is the source of funds. Although the teachers are all skilled, they are not sales experts.

Now, the old shoe factory's private order is basically spread by the word of mouth among friends. In this era of Internet thinking, we only have to work hard to wait until the results are already out of order. Maybe this is the helplessness of the craftsmen.
