Shanxi Institute of mass media, formerly known as the North China Radio and television school established by the former Ministry of radio and television in 1983, was established by the Ministry of education in 1990. It was founded on the basis of the North China Radio and television school. It is the only independent radio and television adult college in the country. In December 2017, the theme of "green mobile campus, art heritage" neon fashion show was set up in December 2017.
