    Through the pressure induced polymerization of benzene to six fluoro benzene 1:1 eutectic, the short range ordered Fluoroalkane structure has been studied in Li Kuo and Zheng Haiyan research group of Beijing high pressure scientific research center, and its reaction mechanism has been studied in detail.

    Relevant results were recently published in German applied chemistry.

    The researchers used the world's high-voltage neutron diffractometer to accurately determine the crystal structure of benzene - six Fluoro - benzene eutectic at critical reaction pressure (200 thousand atmospheres), and pointed out the critical distance of reaction.

    They comprehensively analyzed the short range and long range structure of the reaction products by means of characterization and theoretical calculation. The intermediates were separated and measured, and the reaction mechanism based on Diels Alder addition reaction was proposed.

    It is found that benzene in the eutectic is stacked up with six fluoro benzene at high pressure and close to the nearest enough distance, resulting in continuous Diels Alder addition to form banded addition products.

    The adjacent bands are spliced together to remove carbon, hydrogen and fluorine molecules, and generate fluorinated III type graphene with hydrogen and fluorine 1:1.

    This study provides experimental evidence for the elemental reactions of aromatic molecules under extreme conditions for the first time, and describes the reaction process under extreme conditions in detail. It provides important reference for understanding the design of high-pressure chemical reactions, and proves that by controlling the substituent of aromatic compounds, a variety of SP3 hybrid carbon skeleton structures can be obtained.
