SWAROVSKI Announced That It Would No Longer Be Named CFDA For Sponsorship Cooperation For 17 Years.
After 17 years of cooperation, the CFDA Fashion Awards and Austria fashion crystal brand Swarovski (SWAROVSKI) announced their departure.
The two agencies will no longer work together to be held in June 3rd this year, the 2019 Fashion Design Association annual fashion awards.
SWAROVSKI has been the main sponsor of the event.
CFDA president and CEO Steven Kolb said: "after 17 years of good cooperation, CFDA and SWAROVSKI decided to change the scope of their cooperation and focus on supporting other American fashion projects.
We appreciate SWAROVSKI's strong support for American fashion and hope to continue these efforts in the future.
Nadja Swarovski, board member of the fifth generation family member of the SWAROVSKI family, said: "we are proud of the 17 year cooperation relationship with the fashion design association of America for 17 years. We recognized and supported 45 designers through the Swarovski Award for Positive Change and SWAROVSKI's most potential Designer Award (Swarovski Award for Emerging).
SWAROVSKI hopes to continue to support the next generation of design talents in the United States through our diversified fashion support projects.
Steven Kolb said it plans to nominate new partners and sponsors in the near future.
In 2018, a total of 4 million people watched the live broadcast of the American fashion design association's annual fashion awards through Fackbook.
Steven Kolb revealed that up to now, no new sponsor has been identified as the most potential Designer Award.
"This year will not be a prize.
Before SWAROVSKI, it was Perry Ellis.
Perry Ellis gave CFDA the inspiration to support young talents, and this is what we will continue to do through scholarships, Elaine Gold Launch Pad and CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
In addition, there will be no new sponsors for the positive reform award. This award will focus on sustainable development this year.
In 2017, CFDA established the SWAROVSKI positive reform award, and praised the practitioners of the fashion industry who contributed to the American community through civic responsibility, charity and sustainability.
In the same year, SWAROVSKI fund's most potential Designer Award was launched to encourage young designers in women's wear, men's wear and accessories design (three winners).
The number of nominations also expanded from three to five.
In June 2018, Parkland student Delaney Tarr awarded the SWAROVSKI positive reform award to the designer Diane von Furstenberg.
Supermodel Karlie Kloss awarded SWAROVSKI fund's most potential Designer Award to Sander Lak, the designer of New York luxury apparel brand Sies Marjan.
In 2017, SWAROVSKI's positive reform award was awarded to Kenneth Cole, and SWAROVSKI fund's most potential Designer Award was awarded to Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia of Monse.

All of the winners received financial support from SWAROVSKI, and designers also carried out product cooperation with the brand.
Every year, CFDA and SWAROVSKI will host a cocktail party to nominate the most potential Designer Award.
In May 2018, SWAROVSKI said: "the young designer community looks vigorous and very positive.
They are cheerful, confident and cheerful.
During the 17 years of cooperation with CFDA, the fashion industry has undergone tremendous changes.
Young designers have received a lot of support and encouragement.
