Stable Trade Growth, China Council For Trade Promotion Will Help Enterprises To Cope With Technical Barriers To Trade

China Council for the promotion of trade will start product inspection and certification consultation and agency work to help SMEs meet the technical barriers to trade in exports.

Zhang Guofu, director of the trade promotion and exchange center of the China Council for trade promotion, said at a news conference held in the same day that in recent years, because of the lack of understanding of foreign regulations, China's exports have frequently encountered technical barriers to trade in developed countries, causing losses even more than anti-dumping and countervailing measures.

According to official figures, 34.1% of the export enterprises in China were affected by technical barriers to trade in 2016, and the direct loss of export trade amounted to nearly US $50 billion.

Among them, the export of Electromechanical, chemical, metal, wood, paper and textile shoes and hats was the most affected.

In terms of regions, products exported to Europe and the United States are most affected by technical barriers.

Zhang Guofu said that the Trade Promotion Council launched the product testing and certification agency to help enterprises understand the latest information of export destination countries, comply with the required testing and certification, deal with technical barriers to trade and trade frictions, and promote the growth of foreign trade exports.

According to the introduction, the upcoming product inspection and certification consulting agency mainly covers three categories of machinery, electronics, textile and clothing, food and medicine.

These are the main forces of China's exports.

At present, China Council for trade promotion has signed a cooperation agreement with the famous European and American authorities, such as the United States independent testing laboratory Alliance Committee, the Washington laboratory, the European standards consulting center, etc., and is working with relevant agencies in South Africa, Russia, Israel and other countries to discuss the details of cooperation, and will sign a cooperation agreement in the first half of this year.

Zhang Guofu said that through cooperation with foreign institutions, the CCPIT will further help Chinese enterprises to meet the advanced foreign product standards, improve product quality, enhance the competitiveness of products in developed countries, and help enterprises develop the market along the "one belt and one way" along the border and stabilize the export of foreign trade.
