As China's first responsible investment guide based on the life cycle of overseas investment, the guidelines on responsible overseas investment in China's textile and garment industry emphasize the responsible corporate behavior of China's textile and garment industry in the stage of overseas investment evaluation, investment implementation and investment exit, which can help industry enterprises better integrate into the global value chain and investment destination, and ultimately contribute to the construction of the community of human destiny and the realization of the UN 2030 sustainable development goal in the global scope.
Building a strategically advantageous position -- regional cooperation to meet challenges
President of China Federation of textile industry
Sun Rui Zhe
A keynote speech was made on the theme of "sustainable development of textile and garment industry - regional cooperation to tackle global challenges".
He said that China's textile and garment industry has become an important engine to promote regional industrial development, an important industrial platform to promote global responsibility management, and an important contributor to China's national economic development.
At present, the environment of textile and garment industry is undergoing structural changes. The instability and uncertainty of the world economy, the deepening of global innovation, the rapid development of digital trade, and the regional distribution of supply chain have become an important trend. Responsibility development has become a global consensus.
Under the new situation, there are also new changes in China's textile and apparel supply chain. The supply chain is changing to the consumer driven type, the manufacturing link has become the value center, the channel has been developing towards integration and socialization, and the green and environmental factors have been integrated into every aspect of the textile chain and the international cooperation has been deepened.
Nowadays, the huge consumer market, open market space and perfect innovation ecosystem make the textile and garment industry have great potential and opportunity in China.
Under the new situation, the Sino Vietnamese textile and garment industry's cooperation and win-win path should focus on coordination, open development, take science and technology as the core, innovate development, and take responsibility as the guide and green development.
The chairman of the Vietnam textile and Garment Association, Wu De Jiang, introduced the development of Vietnam's textile and garment industry on the theme of "sustainable development of Vietnam's textile and garment industry".
He said that at present, Vietnamese clothing enterprises have advantages such as good labor structure, low cost, preferential export policies and so on. At the same time, there are also challenges such as insufficient development, raw materials basically rely on imports, low level of technology and low level of labor culture.
Subsequently, Le TienTruong, chief executive of Vietnam's state textile and apparel group, elaborated on the role of the National Association in the process of linking up the global textile supply chain.
He said that China is the largest trading partner of Vietnam's textiles. To build a sustainable supply chain, enterprises need to form a strategic and mutually beneficial cooperation in every aspect of the upstream and downstream industries to achieve a win-win situation.
"In Vietnam, language differences, cultural barriers and poor infrastructure conditions are the main challenges for enterprises to invest in Vietnam's textile and garment industry.
Chief economist, deputy chief economist of China Textile Information Center and chief researcher of China Textile Industry Federation social responsibility Office
Liang Xiao Hui
In his speech, he gave an example to share the "responsible overseas investment of China's textile and garment industry" under the "one belt initiative".
Liang Xiaohui said that through research, there are many challenges in overseas investment, including legal compliance issues, such as overtime and overtime pay, gender equality and protection of female workers, child labor, cross-cultural management issues, and local trade union organizations (strike).
"Therefore, overseas investment should be guided by six basic investment principles: the principles of global operation, the principles of sustainable development, the principle of justice and benefit, the principle of inclusive development, the principle of integration of governance and the principle of openness and pparency."
Learn from others and build industrial ecology together
To build a sustainable global textile and apparel supply chain requires coordination between the state and the country, the region and the region, and the healthy and stable development of the supply chain is the key to the sustainable development of the whole industrial chain.
The upper and lower reaches of enterprises, enterprises and consumers constitute an ecosystem. Only if each side is healthy can the health of the ecosystem be ensured.
"Competition makes discounts between brands become a norm, and keeps brands constantly innovating."
Christian Schindler, Secretary General of the International Federation of textile manufacturers, described the geographical evolution and trend of the international textile industry in his speech.
AngelaOrtiga RA, manager of water resources management in WWF (Germany), and Hoang Viet, the world natural resources foundation (Vietnam) project manager, have jointly shared how the textile and garment industry can create a green and sustainable supply chain at the global experience and national level.
In addition, the relevant enterprises in the industry chain express their views on how to build a healthy and sustainable supply chain under the premise of changes in the current economic, market and consumer environment.
Chen Deqian, general manager of Swiss textile Certification Co., Ltd., combined with the company's business and development, illustrates how to build a green and pparent sustainable textile supply chain.
TESTEX can realize the whole chain inspection and certification from raw materials, such as fabric, printing and dyeing, production process, products and labels, and supply chain management.
"With the upgrading of consumption and the change of consumer groups, the millennial generation and the parents' group have a higher demand for green products. They not only pursue the innovation and diversity of products, but also prefer environmentally friendly clothes. They have an urgent need for the trust and pparency of enterprises. Therefore, enterprises need to make efforts in this respect and carry out reliable endorsement through relevant institutions and certification."
Chen Deqian said.
"The industry needs a new, universal, simple and logical system to deal with and solve these challenges and to achieve standardization of workflow and data: from the market and consumer trends to the comprehensive color system and solutions of design, production, retailers and consumers."
Detlev Pross, head of COLORO color solutions, China Textile Information Center, also said in the speech that the change of consumer behavior and expectations is now deeply affecting the whole fashion industry.
Detlev Pross puts forward that color is the core driving factor of consumer decision making, and the wrong color decision and the wrong color on the production line are the core reasons for wasting millions of tons of fabric and clothing every quarter.
"In the fashion world, everything must be run at the fastest speed and the shortest time, but we also need to reduce the waste of energy, water, chemicals and fabrics.
The Coloro color system is building such an open, global, independent platform to achieve this goal, which enables the global fashion industry to constantly analyze and track color trends, and then apply these trends in a simple, fast and consistent way through digital applications, and ensure the use of ecological dyes and sustainable processes in actual manufacturing. "
As China's investment and textile and garment enterprises, He Jianli, vice general manager of Huafu chain Investment Co., Ltd. also shared the purpose and plan of building Zhejiang Shang green town.
He Jianli said that in the face of the industrial pain point of urgent delivery and inventory risk brought by the upgrading of consumption, flexible, digital, platform and ecological supply chain has become the norm, and flexible production can be realized through the industrial Internet to achieve an ideal state of supply chain layout with more, less, less, on-demand customization, efficient collaboration and multi category quick response.
"Vietnam has the advantages of country, resource, mode, policy, organization and so on."
"To create a small town for the future and the most competitive textile and clothing industry in Vietnam."
He Jianli said this is the overall positioning of the small town of Zhejiang merchants.
The town is dominated by the textile and garment industry, with fashion elements as its core, and through the entire industrial chain of yarn, fabric, printing and dyeing, clothing, home textiles, etc.
The core contents include: printing and dyeing as the industry support, providing the whole industry chain sharing service; building intelligent and innovative industrial base based on central intelligent warehousing; creating flexible supply chain with industrial Internet, releasing high efficiency in collaborative production, perfecting functional requirements of formats, and creating a green fashion town with integrated production, life and ecology.
The project is planned to be built in three years and built in five years, that is, the construction of industrial plates in 2022, and the construction of towns in 2023.
Jumnong Nawasmittawong, vice chairman of ASEAN Textile Federation and vice chairman of Thailand Textile Industry Federation, also shared how to strengthen the building and cooperation of ASEAN textile industry supply chain.
He first introduced the specific situation, main business and role of ASEAN Textile Federation, and Jumnong said that only by working together can we better promote the development of ASEAN textile industry.
Finally, Mr Huynh Thai Hoa, director of OBS e-commerce center, shared the role of Alibaba in textile exports.
He said that through the huge e-commerce system of Alibaba, it can help companies find the best quality buyers in the world and break the link between online and offline to achieve maximum efficiency.
Work together to promote Sino Vietnamese development
During the summit, the organizers also visited and exchanged Nhabe Corporation, a leading textile and clothing enterprise in Vietnam.
Since its establishment in 1973, Nhabe Corporation has developed into a modern garment manufacturing and brand enterprise with 37 business departments and over 25000 employees.
As the main base to undertake the pfer of domestic textile and garment industry, Huafu is undoubtedly an early layout enterprise.
In 2013, Huafu set up a subsidiary in Longan province and became the largest foreign-invested enterprise in Longan. The company also had the first overseas production base.
In December 15th last year, Vietnam's Huafu Industrial Park was officially opened. The participants also walked into the industrial park to see the speed and capability of the "all-around fast reverse factory".
"As of now, Huafu invested 5 years in Vietnam, with a total investment of US $300 million, construction of 280 thousand spindles, 20 thousand tons of colored fiber dyeing, 2000 square meters of R & D center, and 110 thousand square meters of production and living facilities. It has become a fast reaction base for Huafu in Southeast Asia."
According to Sun Weiting, Hua Fu holdings and Huafu fashion chairman, as the global apparel supply chain is gradually gathering to Vietnam and Southeast Asia, the production of Vietnam Huafu can enhance the delivery capacity of Vietnam, Bangladesh, and China's Hongkong and Southern China regions.
Compared with domestic, Vietnam's local order delivery time is shortened by 12 days. Bangladesh, Hongkong and Southern China orders are expected to be shortened by 2-4 days. Competitive advantage can be achieved through quality differentiation, product differentiation and cost differentiation.
"Chinese enterprises in overseas regional investment should not only have the concept of commercial global integration development, but also uphold the concept of sustainable development, which can not only help enterprises develop locally, but also far-reaching significance is to lead other industries in overseas responsibility development, so that Chinese culture and value can be better pmitted."
Yan Yan, director of the social responsibility Office of China Textile Corporation, said that through this series of summit activities, more and more Chinese textile and garment enterprises will carry out the layout of the "one belt and one way" country. In the future, the China Textile Industry Federation will continue to increase its social responsibility and sustainable collaborative development, and help enterprises to do more awareness raising and capacity-building training, help enterprises increase cooperation with all stakeholders, and better integrate their sense of responsibility and sustainable development into the local management and operation.
The summit has only a short two days, and it has gained more than a few points for the participants. For the global textile and apparel supply chain conference, which has been held for 11 consecutive years, the value of this platform is beyond this. The summit ended, but the link between Chinese enterprises in the global textile and garment industry has just begun.
