    Promoting Fashion Industry

In June, the 19 national low carbon day, the theme of 2019 is "low-carbon action to defend the blue sky". At the same time, the China Federation of textile industry's social responsibility Office (CSF) action group launched the China Fashion Climate Leadership Project, through the green technology and green finance as the industry's low carbon empowerment, invited leadership enterprises and institutions and multi stakeholder cooperation to promote the fashion industry climate innovation in 2030 to reduce the 40% action, and promote the Chinese fashion industry chain enterprises to participate in the global climate governance action.

Sai Deli 6 value chain enterprises jointly sign action commitments

As the first batch of China Fashion Climate Leadership Project participants and supporters, the world's largest cellulosic fiber manufacturer, Sai Deli, joined hands with 6 value chain partners: Fujian new Huayuan Group, Suzhou Pu Lu Tong Textile Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Lian run new Mstar Technology Ltd, Xuzhou Huasheng Textile Co., Ltd., Linzi (Nanjing) viscose wire Co., Ltd. and Henan Jinyu Textile Co., Ltd. announced in Fujian Changle to join the "fashion climate innovation 2030 action", and signed a commitment letter to carry out the operation of the union Climate Leadership.

On the same day, Liu Tao, vice president of Sai Deli, vice president of business and representative of value chain partners of Sai Deli, Chen Zongli, chairman of Fujian new Huayuan company, Gong Jiangen, general manager of Pu Lu Tong Textile Technology, Hu Jiqiang, general manager of Shandong Lian Yun Min Yue regional manager, Hu Jiqiang, general manager of Henan Jinyu, Zhang Chunlin, general manager of Linz Nanjing general manager, together with the director of sustainable development project of China Textile Association, signed the action promise. Duan Xiaoping, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation, President of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, and Feng Xin, vice president of downstream business and business development of Sai Deli, witnessed the signing of the agreement.

Fashion climate innovation 2030 action: the independent contribution scheme of the climate action industry

The CSR Office of China Textile Industry Federation launched the 2020 carbon management innovation act in 2017. In 2018 and 31 global brands and manufacturers, as well as 11 industry organizations, the United Nations Convention on climate change (UNFCCC) was launched to sign the fashion industry climate action charter. On the basis of this, it upgraded to 2030 of the fashion climate innovation action roadmap, hoping to shorten the recognition and application cycle of emission reduction innovation and emission reduction technology through industrial scale effect, enhance energy efficiency and energy innovation, reduce energy consumption costs, accelerate the spanformation of low carbon, and create a low carbon brand of China's fashion industry through industrial collaboration, and enhance the international competitiveness of Chinese enterprises in the global low carbon supply chain.

As the first enterprise to join the 2030 action of fashion climate innovation, Sai Deli is one of the largest cellulose fiber producers in the world. It has 5 cellulosic fiber factories (including 1 houses under construction) and 1 yarn factories, with an annual capacity of 1 million 400 thousand tons. Sai Li Li has been committed to sustainable development. The company is a member of the green development alliance of regenerated cellulose fibers. Regenerated cellulose fibers are low carbon products that enterprises respond to global climate change through natural solutions. The innovative BV and cyanine synthetic fiber of Sai Deli company has significantly improved in terms of production efficiency, spinnability and product performance compared with ordinary cellulose fiber. It can effectively improve material consumption, energy consumption and reduce labor intensity in yarn production process, which is directly related to improving the carbon performance of yarn enterprises.

Every action is the "horn of the times". Brand enterprises, fashion advocates, product manufacturers, fabric enterprises, consumers and other supply chains can become a positive respondent and an important contributor to global climate action. Together with China's fashion industry associations, we actively respond to global climate change and follow the call of the horn. Every tiny force will converge into the stormy waves of the times to wake up the sleepy or sleepy people, and jointly realize the Chinese fashion action of the fashion industry climate to create a 40% reduction in carbon emissions in 2030.

It is understood that sea level rise and frequent extreme weather. Over the past 50 years, climate change has had a significant impact on natural ecosystems and human society. In December 2015, the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change (UNFCCC), the Paris Agreement of the Paris Conference on climate change, will strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change, control the global average temperature above the level of pre industrial level in 2 degrees Celsius, and strive to control the temperature up to 1.5 degrees Celsius. "Paris" The world will achieve the peak of greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible, and achieve zero net emissions of greenhouse gases in the second half of this century.

In the past, concerns about greenhouse gases were mainly focused on energy production, spanportation and agriculture, and were not linked to the fashion industry. At the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP24) in Katowice, Poland, the world's 43 leading brands, manufacturers and industry organizations jointly signed the new Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action. These include Stella McCartney, Hugo Boss, H&M, Burberry, Adidas, Kering, Levi Strauss & Co, and China Textile Industry Federation, and the joint venture.

The initial goal of the fashion industry climate action charter is to reduce the total emissions of greenhouse gases in the fashion industry by 30% by 2030. Specific measures were enacted in the Charter, such as phasing out coal-fired boilers or other methods of generating heat and generating electricity through coal in the company and its direct suppliers starting in 2025.

The steering committee and six working groups have been established in the fashion action climate action charter. The signatories will identify specific implementation steps in these working groups. The CSR office is a member of the steering committee and serves as co chair of the policy working group. In the current economic development mode, emission rights are basically equal to the right to development: economic development needs to consume energy and produce emissions, and to deal with climate change, we need to reduce emissions. At present, more and more fashion brands understand the necessity of carbon emission management and begin to pay attention to the sustainability of brands, fashion, products, fabrics and supply chain. However, most fashion brands often do not involve carbon emission management in the supply chain when they manage their carbon emissions. However, the carbon emission in the supply chain is a link that can not be ignored in the correlation of the carbon emissions of the fashion brands. For example, some textile brands even account for 90% of the total, so they can not be ignored because of their direct operation control. Because fashion brands do not understand their complete carbon emissions, especially the overall situation of carbon emissions in the supply chain, it will be very difficult to achieve the most cost-effective emission reduction strategy. Even if the fashion brand has developed and launched a series of emission reduction operations, it is far away from the real sustainable supply chain.

As the only signatory of the global Charter of fashion industry from China, the China Federation of textile industry has formulated the 2030 line of action for China's fashion industry's climate innovation based on the UNFCCC charter. It has greatly shortened the application cycle of emission reduction innovation and emission reduction technologies through industrial scale effect, improved energy efficiency and energy innovation, reduced energy consumption costs and accelerated the spanformation of low carbon industries. At this turning point, climate change has begun to integrate into the sustainable strategy of China's fashion industry and enterprises, accelerating to become an important contributor to China's global climate action, and a major respondent in global sustainable production and consumption.

The Chinese textile industry is firmly committed to the diachronic responsibility of the construction of ecological civilization. In tackling climate change strategy, we always take the maintenance of industrial interests and enterprise interests as the fundamental starting point to highlight the responsible image of China's industry and strive to build the common destiny of human beings as the ultimate goal, and provide strategic support for China's fashion industry to cope with climate change and provide solutions for the deep participation in global climate governance.
