Xia Lingmin Leads A Team To Eastern Europe To See Ukraine Textile Industry Through Kiev Fashion Show

In the golden autumn, Xia Lingmin, vice president of the China Textile Federation, led by the textile trade promotion branch, organized a Chinese textile delegation to visit Ukraine and Belarus in Eastern Europe to discuss the possibility of implementing the belt and road cooperation and understand the investment and business environment and policies of Eastern European countries. A total of 22 leaders from relevant professional associations of China Textile Federation and well-known entrepreneurs from chemical fiber, cotton spinning, knitting and circulation markets participated in the visit.

On September 12, the Chinese textile delegation first visited the Kiev fashion exhibition, which is a comprehensive exhibition of Ukraine's traditional clothing, fur, fabrics, home textiles, accessories and other products. Although the exhibition area of 15000 square meters is not too large, the classification and professionalism of various textile and clothing products on display are fine and professional, which fully reflects the color, fabric and time of Ukraine Vice President Lin Yunfeng has a higher level of design and promotion.

Ukraine's light and textile industry was once very prosperous in the Soviet era, and it was an important base for Soviet clothing production. However, with the collapse of the Soviet Union and the two "Color Revolutions", Ukraine's textile and clothing industry suffered great setbacks, the original supply chain was interrupted, the export to Russia was limited, the industry chain was no longer complete, and a large number of professionals and labor lost. At present, Ukraine relies on its unique design level to support the domestic garment industry, but it is faced with a serious shortage of various fabrics. 90% of the garment surface accessories need to be imported. Compared with other neighboring countries, Ukraine has a population of more than 40 million, which can be regarded as a large regional market. However, Ukraine's own textile and clothing manufacturing industry can not be fully self-sufficient. In addition, the slow economic development, low consumption capacity and unclear industrial policies hinder the smooth development of the textile industry. Uzbekistan hopes that through extensive cooperation with China's textile industry, the serious shortage of fabrics can be solved.

The CFA delegation held talks with Uzbek representatives to discuss new opportunities for China Uzbekistan cooperation. Vice President Xia Lingmin introduced the development status of China's textile industry, the characteristics and current situation of foreign investment of Chinese textile enterprises, and the president of Ukraine Textile Industry Cooperation Association, Ukraine investment agency, Kyiv fashion sponsor, China Ukraine friendship and Cooperation Association and other relevant personnel made a detailed introduction to the situation of Ukraine's textile industry and investment environment. China hopes that the two sides will further strengthen exchanges and communication, strive to establish an effective cooperation mechanism under the framework of the belt and road, and jointly promote the implementation of China Uzbekistan economic and trade cooperation.
