The Fifth China Quilt Creative Design Competition Held In Keqiao

Use competition as a medium to make colorful life with cloth. In October 19th, the 2019 fifth "100 Fu Cup" China quilting creative design competition and international patchwork seminar was held at Zhijiang College of Zhejiang University of Technology.


The competition was co sponsored by the China Textile and clothing education association, the China Textile City Construction Management Committee, the Zhejiang provincial patchwork Association and the Zhejiang Folk Artists Association. With the theme of "cultural journey tradition and innovation", five groups, including home design, dress design, decoration art, cultural and creative gifts design and quilting fabric design, were attracted to more than 80 national art design colleges and France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea and other countries and regions. They received more than 720 entries at home and abroad. Among them, Zhejiang University of Technology Shaoxing college, Shaoxing University Yuan Pei college, Keqiao vocational education center and other Shaoxing colleges and universities all participated in the review.


After a series of selection, the contest awarded 18 pieces of award-winning works, including 13 home design group, 30 decorative arts group, 13 creative design group, and 6 pieces of fabric design group. The award-winning works of unique style and splendor are exhibited at Zhijiang College of Zhejiang University of Technology.


Patchwork has a long history. Today, it has become a new fashion. In Europe and America, Japan and Korea and other countries and regions, it has formed more perfect industries and art categories. In recent years, China's patchwork industry has also reached a certain scale. The patchwork has become more and more popular. Many patchwork enthusiasts are involved in it.


At the current international patchwork workshop, European Free quilt artist Grew Laporte, Korean contemporary fiber artist Yin Binan, Japanese handicraft artist Kobayashi Yoshiko and other overseas patchwork figures exchange with local patchwork art lovers to explore the trend of patchwork art.


"We hope to build a platform for the exchange, learning, competition and display of creative design through competitions, and constantly improve the overall level of China's patchwork creative design, and further enhance the international influence of China's patchwork art." Yang Tiegang, executive director of Zhejiang province quilting Association and chairman of Shaoxing master culture and Creative Industry Co., Ltd., said that Keqiao has strong textile industry strength and is the advantage area for developing the patchwork industry in China. The next step will be to build Keqiao into the base and center of the domestic patchwork industry, so that the quilt will bloom and help Keqiao transform into fashion.
