Survey On Export Trade Of Indonesian Textiles And Garments In 2019 1~6

Exports to the US market

Export amount

The total value of textiles and clothing exports in 2019 1-6 amounted to US $2 billion 480 million, up 4% from the same period of the previous year. The main export items were garments and apparel, which accounted for 2 billion 280 million US dollars, accounting for 92% of the total export value, followed by miscellaneous products, with an export value of 110 million US dollars, accounting for 5% of the total export value. In addition to yarn, the export value of all products increased compared with the same period of the previous year, while the number of garments and apparel exported to large volume increased by 2%.

Export volume

In the 1-6 month of 2019, the export of yarn and fabric declined, while fiber and miscellaneous grew. Exports were mostly garments and apparel, with an export volume of 620 million square meters, up 0.2% from the same period in the previous year.

Export average unit price

The average unit price of all products except yarn was increased compared with the same period of the previous year. The average unit price of fiber, cloth and miscellaneous products increased by 16%, 1% and 66% respectively. The average unit price of yarn decreased by 9%. The average unit price of exported garments and garments increased from $3.63 per square metre in the previous year to US $3.67, up by 1% (see Table 1).

Export to EU market

Export amount

The total value of textiles and clothing exports in 2019 1-6 amounted to US $990 million, representing a decrease of 0.4% compared with the same period in the previous year. The main export items were garments and clothing, with an export value of US $750 million, accounting for 75% of the total export value, followed by yarn, with an export value of US $140 million, accounting for 14% of the total export value. The export value of fiber and yarn was increased compared with the same period of the previous year, and the fabric and miscellaneous items were declining.

Export volume

In 2019, the export volume of most yarn products was 56 thousand tonnes, accounting for 42% of the total export volume, equivalent to that of the same period last year, followed by garments and apparel, 26%, and export volume declined by 3%. 1-6

Export average unit price

The average unit price of all products increased except for miscellaneous items, which increased by 10% compared with the same period in the previous year. The average unit price of exported garments and garments increased from $21.01 per kilogram in the previous year to US $21.7, up 3% (see table two).
