Cracking "Baumol's disease"

Guo Zhaoxian said that the platform economy is an important direction for the integration of advanced manufacturing industry and modern service industry. Therefore, a large number of construction machinery, power equipment and other enterprises have taken the operation and maintenance service as the focus of transformation.

For example, industrial giants SIEMENS, GE, Schneider, ABB and so on have made predictive maintenance, remote diagnosis and maintenance of their equipment as one of the most important businesses.

Guo Zhaoxian pointed out that the important feature of these new models is that the boundaries between manufacturing and services are becoming more and more blurred. The traditional dichotomy of manufacturing industry and service industry, which is derived from the three industries, is changing. Guo Zhaoxian pointed out that nowadays, the high value link of international industrial division is changing from manufacturing link to service link. In some developed economies, the added value of products in the manufacturing process is less than 40% of the product price, and more than 60% of the value-added occurs in the service sector. This means that the key to the realization of commodity value and profit increase lies in the chain of derivative industries, which promotes the extension of manufacturing enterprises to the two ends of R & D design and marketing services from the manufacturing link to the advantage of the single chain, forming the advantage of the whole chain.
