The Alexander Mcqueen Brand Will Donate Extra Fabrics To Help Students Complete The Graduation Design Series.
Last Friday in London Fashion Week, the Alexander McQueen (Alexander McCune), the designer of Kai Yun group, announced a donation plan for fashion majors in the UK. Alexander McQueen will donate its own surplus fabrics to students from many fashion colleges in the UK to help them complete the final collection.
Alexander McQueen is famous for its luxurious fabrics and unique printing. Sarah Burton, brand creative director, said, "Alexander McQueen is never wasted and discarded in the development of fashion series, and all unnecessary fabrics during development are returned to the archives." These stock fabrics include both men's special fabrics and ladies' special fabrics, some of which can be traced back to 10 years ago.
Last Friday's London Fashion Week, the masters from the central Saint Martin Academy of art in London and the masters of the University of Westminster art academy held a show to show their work. Most of the fabrics used in the two shows were donated by Alexander McQueen. A student from University of Westminster said, "you always fantasise about your graduation design series when you are in the beginner fashion, but never consider the cost problem. When you go deep into study, you realize that the cost of these shows is up to 1 to 15 thousand pounds."
Sarah Burton has been committed to providing help and support for young designers. In December last year, Sarah Burton opened a brand new exhibition, "Roses" (Rose), with a student oriented speech, and planned to take the lead in organizing a series of activities for students in art colleges across the UK, and even providing teaching and exhibition space for other mentors.
Last January, Sarah Burton A special space has been opened on the two floor of flagship store, 27 old Bond Street, Mayfair, London, as a base for public exhibitions. It is open to students and spectators from all over the UK. Through a series of exhibitions, speeches and events, the inspiration and stories behind the design are revealed, and the relationship between cutting, fashion, textiles, embroidery and handcraft is elaborated, which enriches the new generation of talents. Peacekeeping perspective forms a unique creative community.
Sarah Burton once said, "this space will inspire every one of us, especially remind myself, let me remember how hard it was to finish graduation design at that time, because students could not afford expensive fabrics. Fortunately, I came to Alexander McQueen and met with Lee Alexander McQueen (late founder), who helped me buy the fabric needed for graduation design. For today's students, it is even harder. Everyone cherishes those precious resources. "
