Like most start-ups, after a year and a half of the year, and after finding out the market pain, TravelRight is ready to make a big start this year. According to the work plan, in February 2020, TravelRight will usher in three important events: the new website is online, and the cooperation with Ctrip is officially opened and the team is expanding.

"This is a happy event in February. The whole team even took the initiative to abandon the plan for the Spring Festival holiday and return to work in January 29th." Sun sun, the founder and CEO of TravelRight, is looking forward to the future.

However, the sudden attack of the new crown pneumonia outbreak has disrupted the plan.

The main profit model of TravelRight is to collect a certain percentage of commissions from airlines by helping the passengers who are subject to flight changes recover their claims. After the spread of the epidemic, the domestic aviation industry was at a standstill, and airlines cancelled the overseas routes one after another. However, the epidemic is a force majeure and does not apply to claims. At the same time, overseas airlines have almost cancelled Chinese routes because of the epidemic. TravelRight's revenue has been hit by internal and external attacks.

It is worth mentioning that the operation of TravelRight is deeply influenced by the major OTA platforms. "Our business model is B2B2C, and most of the passengers come from OTA." Sun Sun told the twenty-first Century economic news reporter that after the cooperation with many OTA in China, the peak season for Spring Festival this year should be a window period for TravelRight to achieve a historic breakthrough. With the help of major OTA platforms, the company is expected to usher in an explosive growth in business in February.

However, during the busy season of Spring Festival, the days of domestic OTA platforms are even more difficult.

In January 24th, the Ministry of culture and tourism issued an urgent notice requiring the national travel agencies and online travel enterprises to suspend business team travel and "ticket + Hotel" tourism products. Then, a huge order refund came, and the OTA platform took the lead.

"The large travel booking platform is working hard to deal with the refund, and all travel agencies will be closed until March." Sun Sun told the twenty-first Century business news reporter that orders from the OTA platform were suspended when the epidemic hit.

Another blow comes from talent recruitment.

TravelRight, through more than half a year's school enterprise communication, has recruited four outstanding overseas masters graduates. The entry and training preparation for new employees is also proceeding in an orderly way.

In sun sun's eyes, talent and team building are the top priority of TravelRight. But after the outbreak, all overseas labor contracts were canceled, and the company faced a new round of recruitment. "How to recruit internships quickly during the epidemic period will also be a challenge for distance training for new employees." Sun Sun said.

As a start-up, sun sun also needs to consider the issue of cash flow without financing. Fortunately, the strategy of insisting on low operating costs has left her company with no immediate financing needs, and at the same time, the company has not fallen into the passive position of layoffs. In early February, TravelRight recruited a Chinese graduate and turned another intern into a positive position. In addition, in February 18th, the new version of TravelRight website was launched in accordance with the original plan.

Sun Sun said frankly that she is not pessimistic now. "My team and I are now practicing inner strength."

Due to the standardization of team internal communication mechanism before the Spring Festival, TravelRight Shanghai has started working at the end of January this year. "The epidemic is a good opportunity to help improve our team work through good communication and collaboration mechanisms." Sun Sun introduced.

In from March 4 to 8, 2020, the ITB Berlin, the world's largest tourism exhibition, will be opened in Berlin.

Since this year, many large international exhibitions have been cancelled or postponed due to the epidemic.
