Sustainable Environmental Responsibility Under Plastic Ban
In recent years, with the development of science and technology and the improvement of living standards, people's requirements for the quality of life are higher and higher, and the awareness of self-protection is also gradually improving. However, haze and other serious environmental pollution, such as the development of science and technology, also cause serious harm. As a result of the rapid increase in the demand for non-woven materials, especially in the production of non-woven fabrics by melt blown process and its application in the field of protection. However, nearly 90% of the polymer direct web nonwovens are made of polypropylene (PP) and some of them are made of polyester (PET). These synthetic materials are derived from natural oil, which are non renewable resources and can not be degraded in the natural environment. Therefore, the waste disposal has caused many environmental problems.
Global trend ban
At present, the pollution of plastics made from non degradable materials such as PP is sweeping the world. Similarly, the waste of PP polymer direct web nonwovens is also included in this list. According to the statistics of relevant departments in the world, more than 8 billion tons of plastics have been produced in the world, of which 9% have been recycled and 90% have been landfilled, burned or thrown into the sea. Among the 90% of non recyclable garbage, 8 million tons of garbage flow into the ocean every year, which is equivalent to a large garbage truck dumping garbage into the ocean every minute. As a result, more than one million marine organisms stop breathing because of plastic. The total amount of floating garbage in the ocean has exceeded 260000 tons, and has reached the north and south poles, and the last piece of pure land in the world has been occupied.
Scientists pointed out that plastic products may not degrade for centuries, and its pollution crisis may lead to "permanent pollution" of the earth, which has triggered a global "plastic ban". On December 4, 2018, the United Nations announced the launch of the global anti plastic pollution action; in early May 2019, plastic waste was listed as the restricted object of global import and export; so far, more than 15 countries and regions have issued "plastic ban orders": including the United Kingdom, France, EU Member States, Chile, Australia, India, South Korea, Iceland, New York State, Washington state and Brazil Sao Paulo
China's total production of plastic products accounts for about 25% of the global total. Under the influence of the world, China's "ban on plastic products" has also been issued. In February 2019, Hainan plastic restriction order was upgraded to plastic ban order, and the production, sale and use of plastic products listed in the "list" would be completely prohibited by the end of 2025; in August 2019, eight departments of Jiangsu Province jointly issued a document to realize 50% degradability of packaging materials by 2020. On June 5, 2019, the State Council held an executive meeting and adopted the law of the people's Republic of China on the prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid waste (Revised Draft). The draft clearly puts forward the prevention of environmental pollution caused by excessive packaging, and adopts the provisions prohibiting the production and sale of non degradable coverings and packaging materials.
According to the Guiding Catalogue of industrial restructuring (2019 Edition) issued by the national development and Reform Commission on November 6, 2019, the "textile" section clearly points out the development direction of "polylactic acid" (PLA) related materials; in the "opinions on Further Strengthening the treatment of plastic pollution" published on January 19, 2020, it also clearly points out "developing green design" and "increasing degradable materials" The research and development efforts of the project. The policy guidance shows that degradable green materials are the development trend in the future.
Green PLA fiber
Due to its 100% complete biodegradability and excellent biocompatibility, PLA has successfully become a new generation of "green" fibers in the 21st century. In order to protect the environment and save resources, polymer direct web nonwovens also urgently need green materials. Among many biodegradable materials, PLA is undoubtedly the first choice for the preparation of biodegradable nonwovens.
In 2001, the melt blown experiment conducted at the University of Tennessee in the United States proved the feasibility of PLA in melt blown process. However, due to the rheological properties of PLA, it is limited by many conditions, which needs further research and discussion. In 2009, two kinds of melt blown PLA chip raw materials 6252d and 6201d were developed by nature works company of the United States, which were verified to be suitable for melt blown process and industrialized production was realized. Since then, the raw materials of PLA chips that can be used for melt blown production have been monopolized by ingeotm PLA resin of nature works in the United States. At present, the world's main manufacturers of polylactic acid and capacity and use are shown in the table.
After Kanebo GOSEN company and Kureha chemical company announced that they had developed biodegradable polylactic acid spunbonded fabric in 2005, the industrialization and promotion work of polylactic acid spunbonded fabric was started in China. Wenzhou Changlong Textile Technology Co., Ltd. was the first manufacturer to produce polylactic acid spunbonded fabric. In 2018, the company developed the "PLA" non-adhesive spinning materials with the application of "PLA" non-adhesive spinning technology. At the same time, the spunbonded hot-rolled production line (long slit drawing) which is contracted by Dalian Hualun non-woven equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. and provides a complete set of equipment has also been successfully started up in Dongguan Meiya non-woven technology Co., Ltd. At present, PLA meltblown cloth is still in the experimental research stage, and there is no industrial production.

Show responsibility platform
With the outbreak of new coronavirus, the demand for respirators and spunbonded and meltblown nonwovens is increasing rapidly. At present, the waste disposal of PP spunbonded and meltblown nonwovens has become a major environmental problem. At the same time, the United States has reported the introduction of pure PLA spunbonded and melt blown nonwovens masks, which can alleviate the problem of waste degradation. Therefore, the process of improving the properties of PLA spunbonded and melt blown nonwovens is being accelerated in China.
The 14th China International Industrial Textiles and nonwovens Exhibition (cinte20) will be held in Shanghai New International Expo Center from September 2 to 4, 2020. After the exhibition, 20 enterprises of cipeng will take on the responsibility of high-performance textile materials, which will be the first time for the trade fair to release the high-performance materials for the industry.
