In recent years, with the change of cotton planting pattern in China, the cotton industry has grown in Xinjiang, and the cotton planting area in the mainland has dropped to about 20%. According to the feedback from friends of the cotton planting cooperatives in Songzi area, the cotton field is in the flowering period at present. According to the pictures taken, green peaches are still the majority on many cotton plants, and some early bottom began to boll. According to the person in charge of the cooperative, the growth of the surrounding cotton fields varies, with the number of some cotton peaches reaching about 15 per plant, while the number of some cotton bolls is only 7-8 per plant. Because the majority of cotton peaches in the cooperatives are green peaches, it is estimated that it will take about 20-30 days to pick new cotton.

We also know about the ginning plants in Huanggang area. Some maintenance work of local ginning plant has been completed to prepare for the later purchase of new cotton. However, during the communication, we also learned that due to the impact of the epidemic this year, the overall economic environment is not ideal. Although lint prices have risen from a low level, there is still a gap between them and the market prices before the Spring Festival. There are still some lint stocks in the ginning plant. As the price has not returned to the cost line, the willingness to sell is not strong.

We also consulted the cooperatives about the price of new cotton on the market this year. According to Longzhong's understanding, last year, cotton farmers sold seed cotton at a price of 2.8-3.1 yuan / kg. However, this year's output has dropped to less than 2.8 yuan / kg. Cotton farmers are also reluctant to sell, and cotton farmers will determine the timing of selling cotton according to market conditions. The ginning plant, taking into account the cost of lint and the current market price of lint to determine. However, considering the lack of resources and competition in other regions, it will not be too late to enter the market.
