In recent years, with the progress of science and technology and the improvement of people's living standards, higher requirements are put forward for the quality of clothing. At the same time, with the development of textile industry, there are more and more new fabric names on the market. Especially for the clothes sold on the major network platforms, the propaganda means and contents of the merchants are various, with different functions. In order to attract consumers' attention, some businesses use some "high-tech" and "high-grade" names to replace the common material names. Such as Tencel, soybean fiber, milk silk, modal, Lycra, Lyocell, corn fiber and other new fibers made of clothing are springing up. In addition to the novel fabric fiber name, the corresponding functional publicity also came into being, such as antibacterial, ironless, breathable, warm and so on.

In order to provide consumers with necessary consumption guidance, Zhejiang Consumer Protection Committee and Ningbo Consumer Protection Committee (hereinafter referred to as Ningbo Consumer Protection Commission) carried out the test of new fabrics. 40 batches of functional clothing were randomly purchased from each network platform, and comparative tests were carried out on fiber content, warmth retention, air permeability, ironing free, antibacterial and formaldehyde. Ningbo Customs Technical Center was entrusted to complete the comparative test.

1、 Basic information of comparative test

The samples were purchased from Taobao, Jingdong, Suning, pinduoduo and weidian as mysterious buyers. Among them, 14 batches of warm clothing, 12 batches of antibacterial clothing, 5 batches of non ironing clothing and 9 batches of moisture absorption and quick drying clothing were involved. The prices of the samples ranged from 35 yuan to 486 yuan per piece, and they were the products with high sales volume of similar products and top recommended products on the platform.

2、 Comparison of test results

In this test sample, 18 batches of test results do not meet the national mandatory or product standards, involving thermal insulation, the main non-compliance items are fiber content, moisture absorption, quick drying, antibacterial performance, wrinkle level difference after washing. Among them, 3 batches of warm clothing, 5 batches of antibacterial clothing, 1 batch of non ironing clothing and 9 batches of moisture absorption and quick drying clothing were involved.

From the perspective of purchasing channels, Taobao platform purchased 25 batches, 10 batches did not meet the requirements; pinduoduo platform purchased 5 batches, 4 batches did not comply; Suning e-buy platform purchased 5 batches, 2 batches did not conform; Jingdong platform purchased 3 batches, 1 batch did not conform; micro store platform purchased 2 batches, 1 batch did not conform.

In this test, the fiber content of 6 products did not meet the product standard. The fiber content of textiles is one of the main quality indexes. The quality of raw materials directly determines the value of a textile and garment product, and is also a major factor in judging whether the product is genuine or not.

The hygroscopicity and quick drying property of the 9 kinds of moisture absorption and quick drying clothing tested in this test do not meet the product standard. Moisture absorption and quick drying performance refers to the functional clothing that can quickly absorb sweat and transmit it to the outer surface of the fabric to keep the body dry and comfortable after a large amount of sweat is produced during vigorous exercise. The moisture absorption and quick drying fabric is mainly made of functional fiber or fabric after functional finishing. Hygroscopicity: the property that the inner surface of garment fabric can absorb sweat quickly. Quick drying: refers to the property that sweat can quickly diffuse and volatilize after it is transmitted to the outer surface of clothing fabric.

The antibacterial properties of 4 of the 12 antibacterial clothing tested did not meet the product standard. Antibacterial property refers to the fiber or fabric that can kill or inhibit bacteria, fungi, viruses and other microorganisms. Its purpose is not only to prevent the textile from being contaminated by microorganisms and damage, but also to prevent infectious diseases and ensure the health and comfort of human body.

Among the 5 ironless garments tested, the wrinkle grade of one product after washing does not meet the product standard. The crease grade difference after washing refers to the improvement of the anti wrinkle performance of textiles by means of fiber modification, fiber blending, fabric structure change and post finishing, so as to make it have the function of avoiding ironing and easy care.

3、 Content and reference of comparative test

1. Thermal clothing: mainly detect the fiber content, pilling, formaldehyde, air permeability, thermal insulation, color fastness, washing size change rate.

2. Antibacterial clothing: mainly detect fiber content, air permeability, antibacterial property, pH.

3. Non ironing clothing: mainly detect the fiber content, formaldehyde, wrinkle and slippage after washing.

4. Moisture absorption and quick drying clothing: mainly detect moisture absorption (water absorption rate, water drop diffusion time, wicking height) and quick drying (evaporation rate and moisture permeability).

4、 Consumption tips

The samples were purchased on Taobao, Jingdong, Suning e-buy, pinduoduo and other network platforms, and the overall non-compliance rate reached 45%. When selecting textiles on the online shopping platform, try to choose some flagship stores of big brands, read the product description in detail, focus on the main materials of fabrics, and clearly understand the product characteristics corresponding to different materials, so as to avoid being misguided by the names of "high-tech" and "high-grade" fibers claimed by some commodities.

Thermal underwear: at present, there are many products called thermal underwear on the market, and the materials claimed are also various, such as pure cotton, modal, IX, Tencel, bamboo charcoal, etc. In fact, the thermal insulation effect of thermal underwear mainly lies in its structure, not its material. Real thermal underwear is made of layers or down. It works the same way as a down jacket - the more air there is, the more heat it can hold. Therefore, the key factor of whether the thermal underwear is warm or not mainly lies in the fabric and structure of the clothing, such as its fluffy and thickness, rather than what material is selected. Bottom line: the inner brushed and sandwich results in the warmest underwear. Therefore, when choosing thermal underwear, it is recommended to choose products with inner flannelette or sandwich layer. Considering the moisture absorption, perspiration and anti-static properties, it is better to choose the products with natural fiber or natural fiber lining.

Antibacterial textiles: at present, the main antibacterial textiles on the market are antibacterial underwear, socks, towels, etc. However, whether the sample has been treated with antibacterial agents and the antibacterial effect can not be judged by the sense organs, therefore, when purchasing antibacterial products, we can only use whether the antibacterial process is specified on the outer package or the label, such as which kind of bacteria has been tested, or what standards have been met after testing by a certain institution, and corresponding batch numbers, including standards and other information, can be used for rough selection A brief screening.

Moisture absorption and quick drying clothing: "moisture absorption and quick drying" is actually two kinds of indicators, hygroscopicity is used to evaluate the water absorption performance of fabrics, and "quick drying" is used to evaluate the rapid drying performance of fabrics. Hygroscopic and quick drying products have the characteristics of good hygroscopicity, low moisture retention, fast moisture transmission, good moisture permeability and rapid water evaporation. At present, the assessment of moisture absorption and quick drying products is mainly based on GB / t21655.1, but most of the products on the market will not be marked with the assessment standards. If there are those marked with the assessment standards, you can rest assured to purchase them. Now the need for moisture absorption of cotton products is often a point of need. In fact, the products with good hygroscopicity and quick drying property are mostly chemical fibers. If they are cotton, wool and silk, the quick drying property is difficult to meet the requirements.

No ironing performance clothing: the main non iron textiles on the market are mostly shirt products. The shirts that have been processed without ironing have no wrinkle, and have good stiffness and shape stability without ironing after washing. Since formaldehyde is generally contained in the non ironing finishing agent at present, it can be judged whether the formaldehyde exceeds the standard by smelling the smell of the fabric (if necessary, rubbing the fabric to make the fabric smell hot) in the purchase process. If there is a pungent smell, it is not recommended to purchase. This comparative test is only responsible for samples.
