The production and demand of China's industrial textile industry are still in the recovery process, and the industrial added value of the industry continues to grow, but the growth rate of the main economic indicators is still at a low level, and the downward pressure of the industry still exists.

According to the statistics of the production scale of the National Bureau of nonwovens, the output decreased by more than 3.7% compared with the same period of last year.

In terms of economic benefits, from January to July, the operating income and total profit of Enterprises above the designated scale in the industrial textiles industry decreased by 0.5% and 15.0% respectively year on year, and the profit margin was 4.6%, with a year-on-year decrease of 0.8%. From January to July, the operating revenue and total profit of Enterprises above the scale of nonwovens decreased by 4.3% and 37.1% respectively year-on-year, and the profit margin was 3.4%, with a year-on-year decrease of 1.8 percentage points; The operating income of Enterprises above the scale of rope, cable and cable decreased by 0.2%, the total profit increased by 1.4% year-on-year, and the profit margin was 5.1%, with a year-on-year increase of 0.1%; The operating income and total profit of Enterprises above the scale of textile belt and cord fabric decreased by 2.8% and 10.6% respectively, and the profit margin was 5.4%, with a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%; The operating income and total profit of Enterprises above awning and canvas scale increased by 10.5% and 36.0% respectively, and the profit margin of 6.1% was the highest level in the industry; The operating income and total profit of Enterprises above Designated Size for filtering and geotechnical textiles increased by 4.3% and 4.0% respectively year-on-year, and the profit margin was 5.7%, which was basically the same as that in the same period in 2021.

In terms of listed companies, in the first half of 2022, the operating revenue of 28 listed companies in the industrial textiles industry increased by 6.8% year-on-year, and the total profit decreased by 15.8% year-on-year, which was significantly narrowed compared with the first quarter. Among them, 8 listed companies achieved double growth in operating revenue and total profit, the performance pressure of listed companies of nonwovens and medical and health textiles has eased, and the listed companies of sail textiles have a good development momentum.

In terms of international trade, according to the data of China Customs, from January to July 2022, the export volume of China's industrial textiles industry (8-digit HS code statistics of Customs) was 26.98 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 12.1%, and the decline rate continued to narrow compared with January June; From January to July, the import volume of the industry (customs 8-digit HS code statistics) was 3.67 billion US dollars, down 14.2% year-on-year. In terms of products, the industrial coated fabric of tarpaulin and sunshade cloth surpassed felt / tent and became the largest export product in the industry at present, with an export volume of 3.02 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 30.4%, and the export volume of felt cloth / tent was 3.01 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 14.8%; The export volume of traditional products such as cord (cable) textiles, canvas and leather base cloth increased by 17.0%, 31.8% and 18.8% respectively year-on-year. In terms of nonwovens and related products, the export of coiled materials was US $2.38 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 12.7%, and the export volume was 719000 tons, with a year-on-year decrease of 14.0%; The export value of masks and protective clothing made of chemical fiber nonwovens (including medical protective clothing) decreased by 69.1% and 57.0% respectively; The export of disposable sanitary products reached US $1.64 billion, up 19.6% year on year.

However, the industry has obvious characteristics of strong economic toughness, high technology content and wide application fields, and the long-term good fundamentals have not changed. In the second half of this year, a series of measures of textile and economic recovery are expected to stabilize the development of textile industry and economy.
