The pupae are edible.

"Tussah is different from the southern silkworm. The northern tussah has a larger adult size and better silk toughness. The high-quality tussah silk can also be used as silk thread in paper coins, and has a wide range of uses." Ju ZHENGBO, a businessman from Liaoning Province, said.

Tussah feeds on Tussah leaves and requires high environmental conditions. Silkworm growers told reporters that when they went up to the mountain to release ants, even silkworms and move silkworms, everyone did not make up or spray perfume. A little smell would affect the growth of tussah.
