China'S Textile And Clothing Exports Fell 18.5% Year-On-Year In January And February (In US Dollars)

The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles disclosed on the 7th that China's textile and clothing exports fell 18.5% year-on-year in January and February 2023 in dollar terms, due to the high base last year, sluggish overseas demand, and a reduction in the number of orders.

Previous data showed that in 2022, China's textile and clothing overcame difficulties and obstacles, maintained growth, and reached a new high. The annual cumulative export volume was 323.34 billion US dollars, an increase of 2.6%. China continued to become the world's largest textile and clothing export country.

In RMB terms, China's textile and clothing exports: from January to February 2023, China's textile and clothing exports totaled 282.3 billion yuan, down 11.6% from the same period last year (the same below), including 132.41 billion yuan of textile exports, down 15.9%, and 149.89 billion yuan of clothing exports, down 7.5%.

In dollar terms, China's textile and clothing exports: from January to February 2023, China's textile and clothing exports totaled US $40.84 billion, down 18.5%, including textile exports of US $19.16 billion, down 22.4%, and clothing exports of US $21.68 billion, down 14.7%.

Industry experts believe that in 2022, China's textile and clothing exports will still achieve stable growth in the context of the global textile and clothing supply contraction and inflation significantly impacting the global supply chain, reflecting the integrity and resilience of its own industrial chain. It is expected that China's textile and clothing exports will continue to grow steadily in 2023.
