Interpreting Fashion Designer Lan Yuyong'S Fashion And World Dialogue With Ancient Poems Of Suzhou Embroidery And Silk

The Lanyu Fashion Art Exhibition, which opened in Beijing on the 6th, combines Suzhou embroidery, silk and fashion art, and weaves a dialogue of poetic charm and neon clothes in the National Art Museum of China.

Lan Yu is currently a visiting professor at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. She has published her works in international fashion weeks such as Paris, France, New York, the United States, and has built a bridge between oriental culture and the world with a very representative design vocabulary.

The exhibition is divided into two parts: Suzhou embroidery and fashion, bringing a cross-border fashion feast to the audience. The chapter of Suzhou Embroidery focuses on 11 pieces of Lan's Suzhou embroidery and Suzhou embroidery installations presented by Lan Yu, the designer, as the fifth generation descendant of the Suzhou embroidery family, and her mother, Lan Tanghua, the descendant of Suzhou embroidery; The fashion chapter shows 22 pieces of modern clothing works created by Lan Yu in recent years. These works take ancient Chinese poetry and paintings as the source of creation, and integrate the traditional craft of Suzhou embroidery and modern fashion design, reflecting the combination of tradition and modernity.

The reporter saw at the scene that the designer, with the theme of ancient Chinese poetry, lyrics and songs, created fashion art works such as "Suspected Galaxy Falls Nine Days", "Peach Blossoms Burn Its Splendor", and interpreted the life attitude of "picking chrysanthemums under the eastern fence, leisurely seeing the southern mountains" through Suzhou embroidery, brocade, flannelette and other intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, The optimistic spirit of "I am born to be useful, and thousands of gold will come back when they are gone". A new time and space of beauty is displayed between the ancient poetry and the graceful gauze, so that the audience can enjoy the beauty of Chinese characters, paintings and silk.
