The yarn output of textile enterprises above designated size decreased by 1.4% year on year, while the output of cloth, clothing and chemical fiber increased by 3.0%, 5.7% and 10.6% year on year respectively.

The consumer market grew steadily and retail sales grew well. From January to August, the total retail sales of consumer goods of units above the designated size nationwide reached 12030.4 billion yuan, up 2.3% year on year. Among them, the retail sales of clothing, shoes and hats, knitwear and textiles of units above the designated size increased by 0.3% year on year, and the retail sales of online clothing goods of physical goods increased by 5.0% year on year.

Export continued to recover, and all exports rebounded that month. From January to August, China's textile and clothing exports totaled US $197.77 billion, up 1.1% year on year. In August, textile and clothing exports to the world reached US $27.95 billion, up 1.0% year on year.
