    The Scientific Research Team Of The School Of Chemical Engineering Of Dalian University Of Technology Promotes The Salt Free Dyeing Technology Of Cotton Fiber To Achieve 100Kg Magnification

    China is a big country in textile printing and dyeing. The cotton fiber printing and dyeing industry mainly uses reactive dyes and inorganic salts to promote dyeing. However, the amount of inorganic salt is large, water consumption is high, dye fixation rate is low, wastewater COD is high, chroma is high, treatment is difficult, and resources and energy are seriously wasted. Xinjiang is short of water resources, fragile ecological environment, and a large number of inorganic salts are not allowed to be discharged, forcing enterprises to carry out high cost desalination treatment, which seriously restricts the high-quality development of Xinjiang cotton industry chain. The research and development of new salt free dyeing technology is imminent.

    The salt free green dyeing technology of cotton fiber developed by Professor Zhang Shufen from the School of Chemical Engineering of Dalian University of Technology was approved as the scientific and technological development plan project of "Silk Road Economic Belt Innovation Driven Development Pilot Area and Wuchangshi National Independent Innovation Demonstration Area" in Xinjiang Autonomous Region in 2023. Recently, the project held the witness meeting of "100kg salt free dyeing scale up experiment" in Aksu Youlian Textile Printing and Dyeing Technology Co., Ltd. The project achieved salt free dyeing of 100kg and 200kg cotton fabrics, the dye fixation rate reached more than 95%, the color was bright and uniform, and the color fastness was excellent.

    All experts agree that the project has successfully overcome the technical problems and bottlenecks of salt free dyeing of cotton fibers, and achieved zero use of inorganic salts in reactive dye dyeing, which is of great help to the improvement of product quality and subsequent wastewater treatment. It can achieve industrial application and has a leading level at home and abroad. In view of the huge output of Xinjiang's local yarn and fabric, and the growing demand for printing and dyeing, the implementation of this project will inject strong impetus into the green upgrading of Xinjiang's printing and dyeing industry.

    In the next step, the project will make breakthroughs in the larger scale of cotton fabrics and the variety of dyes, form an implementation plan for wastewater recycling, and realize the green printing and dyeing technology in the whole process. This technology is a revolutionary breakthrough in the textile printing and dyeing industry. After implementation, it will enhance the core competitiveness of the cotton industry chain of Xinjiang's cotton and textile and clothing industry cluster, and promote the high-quality development of the cotton industry chain.

    Zhao Wei, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Guo Xiuhua, the first level investigator of the Xinjiang Aid Office of the Department of Science and Technology of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Zhu Fei, a cadre, Kahar Rehman, deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group and director of the Aksu District Science and Technology Bureau, Alifu Abdu, deputy director, and Wang Zhichao, director of the Aksu Textile Industrial City Economic Development Bureau; Zhang Zhihong, President of Dalian Speciality, Specialty and New Enterprise Research Institute and former Director of Torch Center of Ministry of Science and Technology, Professor Mao Zhiping, Vice President of School of Chemistry, Chemistry and Biological Engineering of Donghua University, Director of National Dyeing and Finishing Engineering Technology Research Center, Director of National Advanced Dyeing and Printing Technology Innovation Center, Liu Xue, Deputy Director of National Advanced Dyeing and Printing Technology Innovation Center and former Vice President of Shandong Textile Science Research Institute, Zheng Laijiu, professor of Dalian University of Technology and director of the National Research and Development Center for Supercritical Fluid Anhydrous Dyeing Technology, and Zhong Yi, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice president of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Tarim University/president of the School of Textile and Clothing, attended the witness meeting.
