According to the latest official news from Keqiao, Shaoxing, Zhejiang, in the first three quarters of this year, the added value of the textile industry, textile clothing and clothing industry in Keqiao District increased by 10.2% and 19.1% respectively year on year. The growth of traditional industries is good, highlighting the effect of transformation and upgrading.

Keqiao is thriving because of cloth, and is building an international textile city in a new era. The China Light Textile City within its jurisdiction is the world's largest textile distribution center, where about a quarter of the world's fabrics are traded every year.

According to the recently released "Keqiao Textile Industry Development Achievement Report" (hereinafter referred to as "the report"), in recent years, Keqiao has focused on the "three advantages" of market, industry and scientific innovation, built a modern textile industry system, and explored the path of traditional industry reform.

The textile industry has high energy consumption, high water consumption, high pollution, and green sustainability is the only way for industrial development. In recent years, Keqiao has successfully completed the upgrading of the printing and dyeing industry cluster. The number of printing and dyeing enterprises has been consolidated from 259 to 110, and the largest green printing and dyeing base in China has been built. Its production capacity accounts for 60% of Zhejiang Province and nearly 40% of the country.

While the cluster effect is prominent, the private economy shows vitality. The report shows that there are more than 8000 textile enterprises in Keqiao District, with an annual output value of 130 billion yuan.

Among them, the local government has cultivated 5 "National Top 30 Printing and Dyeing Enterprises", 2 local private multinational companies pilot enterprises in Zhejiang Province, 2 "Industrial Chain Upstream and Downstream Enterprise Communities" in Zhejiang Province, and 5 textile listed enterprises. In October this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of the first batch of enterprises that meet the Standard Conditions of Printing and Dyeing Industry (2023 Edition). A total of 14 textile printing and dyeing enterprises in Keqiao District were shortlisted, ranking first in the country.

At the same time, the innovation capability of textile enterprises has been continuously enhanced. For example, Keqiao has 74 research and development centers for enterprises at or above the provincial level in Zhejiang, and 4 research institutes for enterprises at the provincial level in Zhejiang, with 27000 research and development personnel; Among 110 printing and dyeing enterprises, the number of national high-tech enterprises will increase from 24 in 2018 to 99 in 2023.

To promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, it is necessary to develop new quality productivity according to local conditions. Keqiao has grasped the key variable of scientific and technological innovation. Focusing on the science and innovation platform, Zhejiang Modern Textile Technology Innovation Center (Jianhu Laboratory) has been built and put into use locally, and has introduced 12 first-class teams and 160 key scientific and technological projects.

Taking the digital wave, Keqiao has completed the intelligent transformation of 848 enterprises above the designated size, and the proportion of advanced equipment has increased to more than 60%. The local government has also built the first collaborative innovation center for engineers in the national textile industry, attracting more than 73000 engineers and serving nearly 10000 enterprises.

According to the report, Keqiao has also successfully created the "brain of weaving, printing and dyeing industry". At present, the industrial brain has been connected to more than 3000 enterprises, with more than 290 million pieces of data, which has promoted the industry's production efficiency to increase by more than 8%.
