Guangxi Went To Zhejiang To Launch Investment Promotion Of Textile And Clothing (Cocoon And Silk) Industry

The reporter learned from the Department of Industry and Information Technology of the Autonomous Region that the 2024 Guangxi textile and clothing (cocoon and silk) industry investment promotion activity will be held in Hangzhou on October 31. The activity led to 6 signed and intended cooperation projects, with an investment amount of more than 1 billion yuan.

The purpose of this activity is to promote the docking and cooperation of the cocoon and silk industries in Guangxi and Zhejiang provinces, help enterprises to smooth the internal and external circulation, promote the strengthening of the chain of the cocoon and silk industry, and build a new pattern of industrial development.

The event arranged industry promotion, negotiation, cooperation and signing. Representatives of key enterprises in Guangxi's cocoon and silk industry, together with principals of relevant key enterprises in Zhejiang, key distributors and traders in the supply chain, carried out face-to-face promotion and negotiation, and jointly discussed the direction and space of cooperation.

In recent years, Zhejiang and Guangxi have further strengthened exchanges and cooperation in the cocoon and silk industry, promoted industrial complementarity, personnel interaction, and technology mutual learning, and achieved practical results in the cooperation of the cocoon and silk industry. Since 2023, many enterprises in Zhejiang have invested and started business in Guangxi, and the amount of Zhejiang's purchase and sales of Guangxi's cocoon and silk products has reached 15 billion yuan.

With the implementation of the strategy of "moving mulberry from the east to the west" and "moving silk from the east to the west", Guangxi has promoted the vertical extension and horizontal expansion of the cocoon and silk industry, and continued to strengthen its strength in terms of scale advantages, layout optimization, system improvement, industrialized operation and benefit improvement, so as to realize the rapid development of the cocoon and silk industry. At present, the total output value of the region's silk industry exceeds 11 billion yuan.

"Guangxi is actively undertaking the transfer of the silk post-processing industry in the east, and will focus on introducing projects such as white refining, printing and dyeing, digital printing, silk clothing, silk home textile, etc. to promote the development of industrial clusters," said the relevant person in charge of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of the Autonomous Region.
