5 Websites That Women Want Most

    2008/4/19 0:00:00 15

Last week, I had lunch with internet professionals, and I got a lot of help from a meal, and I learned the good use of the Quantcast system.

Last week I analyzed the top 100 websites in Quantcast.

Unlike others, Quantcast can tell you about the age, surname, education level and income level of each website visitor.

From this information, we can clearly see which websites are "more women" and then what kind of women are in use.

If my downstairs snack bar tells me that their female customers are more than male customers, it may not be great.

However, if a website has more female users than male users, it means that it has hit a harder target. It is worth studying.

By analyzing the list of Quantcast, we can find five websites. The female users are much more than the male users.

These five websites that are especially popular with women, the last three, especially let me drop my glasses!

The website of Shopping is naturally the most popular among female Internet users. The highest ranked one is the nineteenth Target.com (there is also a Target in the recent magazine how to beat Wal-Mart, which is worth reading). Among the 32 million people who do not repeat visits each month, the number of female visitors is 20% more than that of ordinary websites. OverStock also has similar phenomena, while JCPenny is more powerful, and women are almost two times that of men.

Interestingly, like ShopZilla, comparison shopping is almost the same as men and women. It shows that men do not shop but prefer to open their wallets after "comparison". While women are crazy about shopping, they still like to shop around, and the ice cold ice price engine is not so attractive to them.

However, women are still very enthusiastic about coupons, so look at Coolsavings.com.

There are second kinds of quiz, Q & a website: "knowledge quiz website is the largest number of female users" trend, is no longer the news of the Internet, ranking the thirteenth About.com in the United States, there are 46 million non repeated visits per month, and women are indeed more than 10% of the average.

The 26 Ask.com in the United States also had the same phenomenon. Interestingly, when looking at the chart carefully, About.com attracted mainly the 25~34 year old hardcore female users. The main attraction of Ask.com was the young 18~24 year old user. Compared with the recent news that Ask.com intends to switch to the "married women market", it is a bit of a bull's eye.

Third kinds of yellow pages, white pages: This is inexplicable!

YellowPages is for people to check the address and telephone number of a businessman. Everyone will check it, right?

    Wrong!

I don't think even the station owner himself thought that in YellowPages.com and WhitePages.com, there were about 44% more female visitors than men.

Interestingly, YellowPages's visitors tend to have more black and Hispanic population. Their education level and income are all low. But WhitePages is mainly white, and the income and level are high. So, no matter how the female Internet users are, they are interested in this yellow page.

What do they look up on the Yellow Pages?

    When to check?

Entrepreneurs may be able to look at this.

Fourth kinds of DIY, WebMD and nih.gov have a large number of female visitors.

Because such websites are relatively "heavy" and "professional" than those of Yahoo!

These medical DIY websites are often used by users to find some symptoms through search engines, and then even look at the website in the past. What are these symptoms?

Or if you are a doctor, suppose that you may have some diseases. Check that the symptoms of the disease are not in line with your physical condition.

(also because of the need for this, many medical DIY new websites are now dedicated to "symptom search").

The question is, why do women have more needs like this?

Is it possible that women have more pain than others and do not know what they are suffering from?

Or, women's demand for health care is much higher than that of men, too much, and often helps their families care about their health.

Fifth kinds of websites: old people's website: many people talk about the current social networking site and the "old school website".

All right, all young people are on top of Facebook. In 2008, college students wanted to find primary school classmates. Facebook is right.

But what about the middle-aged and elderly people aged 40~70?

They still need professional websites such as Reunion.com and Classmates.com.

However, I don't think the station has even expected that there are so many female users in this website. The number of women visiting is 30% above that of men.

In addition to the above five websites, it is worth a book that the Quantcast list also contains a very powerful website, attracting a lot of women, that is, SmileyCentral (Quantcast information here).

It allows people to download some "smiley faces" of Eucalyptus (the so-called "emoticon"), which can be embedded in email or IM messages.

This website is almost two times the number of female users, and it should be related to women's love of "lovely things".

If so, should only young women like Luo?

    No

    All wrong!

The main users of this website are mostly middle-aged and old people.

It is also known as "light users" on the Internet, which is relatively low in income, low in education level, and not clear about internet access.

The mild user of the female used to use a smiling face website, so that it still has nearly 20 million of the monthly visits. It is ranked the thirty-ninth in the United States.
