    Process Practice Of Flax / Cotton Rotor Spinning.

     

    Compared with ring spinning, rotor spinning has many advantages, such as short process, high productivity and efficiency, improving production environment, enabling continuous automation, and so on, especially in the production of coarse yarn.


    With the rise of natural fiber fever, linen fabrics have been gradually recognized by people for their excellent hygroscopicity, heat dissipation and good clothing characteristics. They are becoming more and more popular. Especially, linen textiles are more comfortable, crisp, tonal, softer and more comfortable than those of ramie, hemp and Apocynum.

    As the second largest flax resource country in the world, with the widening of the international market, China will play a very important role in the world's flax industry, and flax and its blended rotor spinning products are also one of the products that need to be developed.


    1 raw material properties


    The flax linen is an annual herb, belonging to phloem fiber. The diameter of hemp stems is 1 mm~3 mm, and fiber bundles are distributed in the phloem of the stem. 20 ~40 bundles are evenly distributed in the radial direction of the hemp stem, forming a circle of intact fibrous layers.

    The single fiber is the primary phloem fiber cell, a cell is a single fiber, and there are about 30 ~50 fibers in a bunch of fibers.

    The structure of single fiber and bundle fiber is inconsistent in different parts of hemp stem, so the fiber quality is also uneven.

    The radial structure of flax stems can be made up of five parts: epidermis (including thin skins, epidermis, thin wall), phloem (Xian Weiceng), cambium, xylem and medulla layer.

    In xylem stem, the xylem layer is 70%~75%, phloem layer is 13%~17%, and phloem fiber content is about 11%~30%, depending on different parts of stem.

    Flax fiber is mainly composed of cellulose, and contains more hemicelluloses, lignin, pectin and other substances.


    Because of the large difference in fiber length of flax, especially the average length of noil, short flanners and many impurities, the spinning process of ring spinning was used before, but the yarn quality was not good enough, especially the strip dry. The rotor spinning machine was used to process noil and short hemp, and the short ramie yarn was produced with high yield and good quality.

    Table 2 is the physical and mechanical properties of flax noil fiber in Gansu Wuwei hemp spinning mill, and 327 sawtooth cotton is used to blend cotton fiber with flax fiber.


    2 spinning process


    36 tex flax / cotton blended yarn was produced by rotor spinning. The blending ratio was 45/55, and the spinning process was:


    Model A002D automatic cotton picker, A006BS automatic cotton mixer, A036B type porcupine opener, A092AS type cotton feeder, A076E single hand roll up machine, A186F carding machine, FA304 drawing frame (two channels) F1603 rotor spinning machine.


    3 technical measures for each process


    3.1 opening and cleaning


    According to the characteristics of flax fiber, when processing linen / cotton blended yarn, the opening and cleaning process should be fully loosened and even mixed, so as to improve the quality of cotton rolls.


    3.2 carding


    Reasonable arrangement of carding process is an important step to improve yarn quality.

    In order to ensure that the fibers are fully combed, the speed of Xilin should be increased properly, which is conducive to fiber pfer and prevention of Rao Xilin, and slow down the doffer speed. Although the yield is reduced, it is conducive to cotton stripping and improving the evenness of raw and dried strips.

    The process parameters of carding process are shown in Table 5.


    3.3 drawing


    The drawing process mainly considers reasonable draft distribution, increasing the amount of pressure, improving the parallel straightness of the fibers, and strengthening the combination.


    3.4 rotor spinning


    Rotor spinning process is the last process of the whole spinning process. Whether the selection of the relevant technological parameters is reasonable will directly affect the yarn quality and spinning stability.


    4 concluding remarks


    The characteristic of rotor spinning technology is that it can almost spin all kinds of fibers which are more difficult to handle than the ring spinning, which is impossible in other spinning methods.

    Rotor spinning can also be used to spin slub yarn, and in the field of industrial and decorative yarns, rotor spinning is also promising.

    Although the strength of rotor spun yarn is low, its yarn evenness is good, its impurities are few, its wear resistance is good, its elongation is good, its dyeability is good, its yarn twist has layered structure characteristics, and it is very suitable for knitting yarn.
