Shoe leather industry is one of the pillar industries in our region. Last year, the shoe and leather enterprises in the region achieved a total industrial output value of 11 billion 100 million yuan, a record high. Among them, there are 15 enterprises with over 100 billion yuan, the output value is 3 billion 455 million yuan, 56 yuan from 30 million yuan to 100 billion yuan, the output value is 2 billion 948 million 420 thousand yuan, 130 yuan from 5 million yuan to 30 million yuan, the output value is 2 billion 37 million 90 thousand yuan, and the export delivery value is 3 billion 100 million yuan. At present, the association's member enterprises have 6 well-known trademarks in China, 4 genuine leather shoes in China, 10 products in 9 national inspection free products, 21 products in 19 countries, 7 famous brand products, 6 famous trademarks, 7 famous brand products, 8 famous brand enterprises, and famous brand products. In our area, the shoe leather industry has a long history. As early as 500 years ago, during the song and Ming Dynasties, there were specialized producers of shoes and leather. In the 80s and 90s of last century, with the advent of the reform and opening up policy, Wenzhou shoemaking enterprises sprang up everywhere. The shoe leather industry has also led to the development of related supporting industries. According to the registration of industry and Commerce Department, there are 2726 production enterprises, such as shoe making, 2445 shoe making, 130 leather making, 18 shoe making and 133 shoe making production. Our products are mainly made of leather shoes, such as tourist shoes, rubber shoes, children's shoes, injection shoes, casual shoes, slippers, special function labor shoes, cattle leather, film transfer leather, artificial leather and so on.

In 1978, the annual output of leather shoes in Wenzhou reached nearly 3 million 500 thousand pairs.
In 1979, Wenzhou SETRA group founded its predecessor, Ju Xi leather shoes factory.
In 1985, Wenzhou Luyi shoe last Co., Ltd. was founded and introduced Italy's most advanced software and equipment for last processing technology.
