How Will The Textile And Clothing Industry Develop Next Year Under The Financial Crisis?
30 years ago, the Chinese people bought tickets for clothes to buy cloth. Before the liberation, the equipment left behind in the Japanese puppet regime was still operating. Textile export swap was the main industry in the country, though only 20 billion dollars accounted for only 3% of the world's export trade, and more of its exports were primary products. Today, China has developed into the largest textile and garment producer, exporter and consumer in the world. Fiber processing accounts for over 40% of the world's total, exports account for more than 1/4 of the world's export trade, and per capita fiber consumption far exceeds the world average level.
Du Yuzhou, President of the China Textile Industry Association, said at the 30th Anniversary Symposium on reform and opening up of China's textile industry 23, as a pillar of the people's livelihood industry, the textile industry's progress in the new era has laid a solid foundation for coping with the world financial crisis and economic crisis. The arrival of this crisis has become a propeller for China's textile industry to accelerate adjustment and upgrade its industry.

Du Yuzhou said that the important position of China's textile industry lies in its pillar role in the national economy. It has an irreplaceable historical position in meeting and stimulating domestic demand, expanding employment and promoting urbanization, participating in global competition and creating conditions for the development of new industries.
Reform and opening up has opened up the world's largest domestic market for China's textile industry.
At present, the export delivery value of textile enterprises above Designated Size accounts for 23% of sales value and domestic sales account for 77%.
If China's regional economic gap is narrowed and farmers reach the current level of urban development, the increase in rural clothing consumption will make the total expenditure on clothing nationwide expand by 2.7 times.
At the same time, technological progress, structural adjustment and international competitiveness of textile industry will inevitably create new domestic demand market for agriculture, heavy chemical industry, electronic communication industry and other third industries.
With the progress of technology and the continuous improvement of labor productivity, the employment of the output of the textile industry will continue to decrease, but the total number of jobs in the industry and related fields will continue to grow.
In the industrial enterprises above Designated Size, the proportion of employed persons in textile industry accounted for 4.8% in 1980, 8.84% in 1990, 12.28% in 2000 and 14% in 2007.
Textile industry practitioners increased from 3 million 370 thousand in 1978 to about 20000000 now. About 80% of the employees come from the rural labor force.
Since this year, due to the financial crisis, the international market demand has shrunk. The pulling effect of external demand on the development of the industry has been completely weakened. From January to November, although the export of textile and clothing maintained an increase of 8%, it was 0.26% negative growth in November.
At present, the average profit rate of about 70% of the enterprises above the scale of the textile industry is 0.1%, involving about 7000000 jobs.
Taking into account the size of the nearly 10 million employees, the greater the impact.
The adjustment of national macroeconomic policies and the launching of the 4 trillion yuan domestic demand pull plan, as well as the supporting policies for textile enterprises, are of great significance for China's textile industry to extricate itself from difficulties and achieve stable development.
Sun Huaibin, director of the China Textile Economic Research Center, said that in 2009, the state's policy to further increase the income of urban and rural residents will undoubtedly lay the most important material foundation for the further expansion of the domestic market of clothing commodities. Improving the social security level of low-income groups, retirees and preferential treatment objects is also conducive to eliminating the worries of residents' consumption and playing an effective role in promoting the consumption of these residents.
At the same time, speeding up the construction of affordable housing projects will inevitably lead to the expansion of market demand for household textiles, such as decorative textiles and bedding, which are related to housing. The development of major infrastructural facilities such as rural infrastructure construction and railways will inevitably increase the demand for geosynthetics and other industrial textiles. Vigorously developing medical and health services will also provide broad market space for medical and health textiles.
提高科學技術與自主品牌貢獻率良機
To achieve the goal of textile power, China's textile industry must solve a series of developing problems, such as resources and environmental problems, reduce and control costs, upgrade small and medium-sized enterprises, increase labor productivity, build pnational supply chains, and form pnational enterprises in China.
"All these depend on enhancing the ability to innovate, increasing the hard power and soft power of the industry, and improving the contribution rate of science and technology and independent brands."
Du Yuzhou said.
Du Yuzhou introduced that in 2009, under the guidance of the macroeconomic policy of expanding the domestic demand and adjusting the structure of national growth, China's textile industry will actively respond to the challenges of the knowledge economy, promote key scientific and technological research, research and development achievements pformation and promotion, and promote the level of product differentiation in the whole industry. From fiber materials, production processes and equipment to the final products, increase the intensity of independent research and development of enterprises, improve the innovation level of industry university research and industrial chain integration, increase the scale of technological pformation, popularize advanced technology and product function, performance innovation, and improve the quality level.
At the same time, in the face of 99.4% of the small and medium enterprises, especially the difficult enterprises and the small enterprises under the scale, which are currently 2/3 of the total number of industries, the public services will be increased, the social functions of the industrial clusters will be enhanced, and the innovative service platform will play an important role in the fields of quality, R & D, informatization, logistics and market, training, energy saving and emission reduction, so as to make the structural adjustment smoothly and orderly.
At present, China's local brand has occupied the dominant position of domestic mass consumption, and its internationalization still has a long way to go.
The export of textile and clothing has been dominated by processing trade since the 80s of last century. In 90s, with the general trade as the mainstay, the new century entered the stage of OEM production, and at the same time, China's independent brands in the international market also gradually increased.
"To cope with the pressure of pnational monopolistic brands, we need to speed up the cultivation and expansion of our own brands, promote the organic combination of technological productivity and cultural productivity, and promote the construction of brand culture with quality, innovation, rapid response and social responsibility as a whole, build a brand design, production and marketing network, and expand the supply chain and value chain of international and domestic brands."
Du Yuzhou said.
