President Of Italy Textile Machinery Association: We Are Very Optimistic About The Chinese Market.

In an interview with reporters, Dr. PAOLO BANFI, chairman of the Italy Textile Machinery Association, expressed heartfelt congratulations on the upcoming ITMA Asias + timet in China. He said that whether ITMA ASIA or CITME were successful exhibitions, these two exhibitions have been deeply rooted in Asian textile enterprises.

Dr. BANFI said that China is the world's largest textile machine market and a very attractive market: China's textile machinery imports exceeded $9 billion in 2007.

This figure is undoubtedly the most powerful guarantee for the successful launching of the 2008 International Textile Machinery Expo in Shanghai.

I believe this exhibition will be the most important trade exhibition in Asia, especially in China.

Over the years, the textile machinery industry in Italy has a strong desire to strengthen cooperation with China, a country with a long tradition of textile industry.

To achieve this goal, the Italy Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association has been making efforts to enhance cooperation between the two countries and increase contacts and contacts between the two enterprises.

Dr. BANFI introduced the Italy textile machinery market and this exhibition.

He said that in 2007, the output and export volume of Italy textile machinery industry increased steadily, up 3% and 2% respectively.

Figures for the first quarter of 2008 showed that textile equipment exports showed strong growth, an increase of 8% over the same period last year.

Especially for China's exports, although China's textile industry has been affected by the current global economic situation, textile and garment exports show a downward trend in Europe and the United States.

But in the first 3 months of 2008, sales of Italy textile machinery to China still increased by 8% compared with the same period in 2007, and sales reached 85 million euros.

Dr. BANFI analyses that the demand for Italy spinning machines in the Chinese market is mainly focused on spinning machinery, which accounts for 39%, followed by 18% knitting machines and about 18% of equipment and accessories.

This shows that the demand for high quality textile machinery and equipment in China is still very large. This is also one of the important reasons why Italy textile machinery enterprises are optimistic about the Chinese market and exhibiting in China.

In the light of the current market situation, we hope that by the end of 2008, the textile machinery industry in Italy will get higher growth than last year.

According to Dr. BANFI, the Italy Pavilion is an important part of the exhibition. A total of more than 160 enterprises are participating in the exhibition. The exhibition area is 7200 square meters.

76 of the Italy manufacturers will display their products in the Italy exhibition area under the organization of Italy Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (ACIMIT) and Italy Foreign Trade Promotion Committee (ICE).

The three Italy exhibition areas are located at the spinning Hall of W2, the weaving Hall of E6, and the finishing machine hall of E1.

In view of the current situation of China's textile industry, Dr. BANFI believes that China's textile and garment industry has a long history and has obvious competitive advantages.

Although he is now in a difficult time due to the rising raw materials and the rising wage cost of workers, he believes that such difficulties are time consuming. The competitiveness of China's textile industry is unmatched.

He also suggested that if China's textile industry continues to succeed in the international market, it can not compete only on price. The improvement of product quality has become a necessary condition for maintaining competitiveness in the future.
