The Protection Of Laborers' Rights And Interests Is A Test For Enterprises.
Recently, along with the introduction of the rules for the implementation of the labor contract law, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has also opened the prelude to conducting a labor contract law enforcement inspection nationwide.
How to fulfill their social responsibilities and balance the interests of workers in the process of sustainable development has once again become the focus of attention of all parties.

Many industries are struggling with unbearable weight, and some even blame it for the increase in labor costs brought about by the implementation of the new labor contract law.
In fact, during the past 30 years of reform and opening up, the myth of economic development has been created, and the two sides of labor relations have been in an unbalanced state.
According to the social blue book published by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2008, the proportion of Chinese laborers' remuneration has been decreasing year by year. Before 2003, it has been above 50%, and it has dropped to 40.6% in 2006. Compared with that, corporate profits are rising, and the share of capital gains in national income has risen from about 20% to 30.6%.
In 2006, those who took part in old-age insurance accounted for 66% of the urban employment population. If the retirees were excluded, the coverage rate of workers was less than 50%. If the migrant workers were added to the base, the coverage rate would be less than 37%, while the coverage rate of medical insurance coverage was only 30%.
In addition, a survey of the sixth national staff force of the all China Federation of trade unions in 2007 showed that 26.7% of the average workers in the country had never increased their wages in the past 5 years.
Obviously, if we want to link the survival difficulties of enterprises with the increase of labor costs, it is rather far fetched.
As we all know, labor relations are the most basic social relations. Whether labor relations are harmonious or not is not only related to the protection of rights and interests of workers and employers, but also affects the production and operation efficiency of enterprises, and is related to the harmony and stability of the whole society.
On September 18th, Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, made important instructions at the first plenary session of the law enforcement inspection unit of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on labor contract law, calling for the effective implementation of the labor contract law and the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of workers through this inspection.
In March this year, the labor and Social Security Department of Beijing indicated that it will adhere to strict law enforcement, and find illegal activities found in law enforcement inspections.
From this we can see that the increase in government enforcement reflects not only a correction of the weak protection of laborers' rights and interests, but also a resolute determination to eliminate the erosion of workers' rights and interests.
Recently, the massive dam break accident in Shanxi Xiangfen tailings dam and the "Sanlu" milk powder incident have exposed the absence of some corporate social responsibility, which is a disregard for the rights and interests of workers.
Now, we have reason to believe that the introduction of the implementation rules of the labor contract law and the heavy blow of the power sector can fundamentally arouse the attention of enterprises to the social responsibility and the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
After all, facts have proved that only those enterprises that regard social responsibility and labor rights as vitality can survive through the market and become a trustworthy corporate citizen of the government, society and the public.
