The reporter learned from the Provincial Department of commerce that the total export volume of Sichuan's foreign trade amounted to US $1 billion 430 million in October. But at the same time, clothing, footwear and other traditional bulk export products for the first time in 18 months negative growth. In October, Sichuan exported 760 million US dollars of mechanical and electrical products, accounting for 76.8% of the total net export growth in October. The export garments and accessories were reduced by 10.9% from 170 million US dollars, from a slight increase of 1.9% in September to a negative growth. It is reported that clothing and footwear industry are labor-intensive industries.
