In contrast, some small enterprises with less competitive strength are in the dilemma of stopping production.

According to vice mayor Feng Yurong, there were 5256 textile and garment enterprises in 2008, of which 766 were above scale.

The annual output value of the industry was 45 billion 820 million yuan, an increase of 13.77%, the total industrial output value was 40 billion yuan, an increase of 11%, sales revenue was 29 billion 390 million yuan, an increase of 0.9%, and the profit was 430 million yuan, an increase of 8.3%.

It can be seen that in the case of no obvious increase in sales revenue, the profit of Zhongshan's textile and clothing is still growing rapidly, and the profit margin (profit divided by sales revenue) is 1.4%.

In other words, selling 100 yuan can earn 1.4 yuan.

The most direct impact of the financial crisis is the increasing pressure on foreign trade exports.

"In 2008, Shaxi's textile and clothing exports amounted to US $300 million, an increase of 10% over 2007, the lowest growth rate in nearly ten years."

Zheng Huitang, director of the Shaxi economic and Trade Office, said: "at the end of last year, we conducted a survey of more than 200 enterprises, and nearly half of the enterprises reported a 30% decline in orders."

Peng Ridong, deputy mayor of Dayong Town, also reflects that nearly 200 of the more than 1400 garment enterprises in the town are in a state of shutdown.

However, after the Spring Festival visit, the large enterprises generally reflected that the order received this year is more than any year in the past three years.

Zheng Huitang said, "because purchasers believe that the capital chain of large enterprises is healthy, it is unlikely that they will suddenly collapse.

From the perspective of enterprises, large enterprises have strong bargaining power with raw material suppliers, and can also pfer certain risks.

Tongwei computer flower clothing factory is the largest clothing OEM enterprise in Shaxi. The director, Mr. Lin told the author that in the past years, the company's orders were generally scheduled for May, but this year's orders can be discharged to October. "This is a good opportunity for enterprises with financial strength."

On the other hand, Tongwei also vigorously explored the domestic market and launched its own brand "Oriental children".

"The biggest problem for apparel foreign trade enterprises to fight for domestic sales is the lack of brand names. Next, we are ready to expand the market with the help of e-commerce platform."
