    Yiyang'S Textile And Garment Exports Drive Foreign Trade

    Textile And Clothing Export

    Affected by the global financial crisis and the general decline of foreign trade in Yiyang, the export of textile and clothing products in Yiyang has maintained a good growth momentum.


    In 2009, Yiyang exported 19 million 840 thousand US dollars of textile products, an increase of 58% over the same period last year, accounting for 10.06% of the total exports of the city, and 60 million of export garments, an increase of 37.77% over the previous year, accounting for 30.41% of the total export volume of the city.

    In the 1-2 month of this year, Yiyang completed the export of textiles and clothing products of US $15 million 680 thousand, an increase of 187% over the same period last year, accounting for 35.8% of the total export volume of the city.

    It has become an important force to pull Yiyang's foreign trade out of the trough and grow rapidly.

    The key export enterprises of textile and garment products in Yiyang include Tai Wang textile, Desheng textile, Longyuan textile, Pu Hua textile, Fu Hui clothing and Weing Lin shoes industry.


    Although Yiyang's textile and garment exports have maintained steady growth, there are two problems, and the structure of export products still needs to be optimized.

    First, the export body is still dominated by trading companies.


    In 2009, there were 12 textile and garment enterprises with export performance in Yiyang. Among them, Tai Wan textile, the largest export volume (exported 27 million 310 thousand US dollars), Austrian import and export (9 million 920 thousand US dollars) were all circulation enterprises, mainly engaged in the order trade. Most of the export products were not local products, but had limited effect on stimulating local economic growth and solving employment.

    Two, the mode of export growth needs to be changed.

    Textile and garment products in Yiyang are mainly OEM production, with no independent brand and low value-added export.
