Northeast Dianli University is a key university in Jilin province. It is located in Jilin City, Jilin, a famous tourist city which is located in the mountains and rivers, and is a scenic spot. It is a multi-disciplinary university with a coordinated development of science, engineering, literature, management, law, economics and education.

In the long run school running process, the school persisted in the quality of survival and promoted the development through reform. It formed a good school spirit of diligence, rigor, truth-seeking and innovation, and highlighted the talent cultivation characteristics of "one reality, two innovations", which has made important contributions to the national power industry, especially the northeast electric power industry and the economic construction and social development of Jilin province.

Northeast Dianli University was founded in 1949. It was formerly the Senior Vocational School of Changchun electric machinery. It was the first power engineering school founded in New China.

In 1955, the school moved from Changchun to Jilin.

In 1958, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and was renamed the Jilin Electric Power College. In 1978, it was renamed Northeast Dianli University.

The school originally belonged to the Ministry of power industry. Since 2000, it has implemented the management system of "central and local co construction and local management".

In December 2005, the Ministry of Education approved the renaming of Northeast Dianli University.

The school is the first national master's degree authorization unit approved by the State Council. At present, the school has 32 master's degree authorization points.

In 1998, the incumbent received the right to apply for master's degree in the same academic level as a graduate student. In 2003, he received the right to grant master's degree and the master of engineering degree. He had 6 Master's degrees in engineering.

Since 1992, schools and Harbin Institute of Technology and North China Electric Power University have jointly recruited doctoral candidates. In 2003, the State Council's academic degrees Office approved the 2 disciplines of the school's power system and its automation and thermal energy engineering.

There are 14235 full-time students in the school, including 1012 doctoral and postgraduate students, 13223 undergraduates and junior college students, 5185 other correspondence students, and 190 postgraduates working in engineering.

The school has 18 faculties and 8 research institutes.

There are 32 undergraduate majors, covering 7 disciplines, including engineering, science, management, literature, law, economics and education.

There are 1 provincial training centers for key construction projects, 1 key provincial experimental teaching centers and 1 national vocational skills training centers.

There are 11 teaching practice bases and 23 off campus teaching and practice bases.

The school has a computer campus network, which is the city node unit of Jilin Education Research Network (CERNET).

There are two majors in art design (interior design, environmental art design, graphic art design), fashion design and Engineering (fashion design, fashion design and performance two directions) and two new majors in 2005. The Institute has added the master's degree authorization point of "design art" in 2005.

In the teaching process, colleges and universities focus on "one reality, two innovations", namely, the practical ability, the innovative spirit and the entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2001, he won the first prize in the third China clothing design teacher and student works competition group. In 2002, it won the third total of the fourth China clothing design teachers and students works competition group. In the same year, it won the "China Cup" international clothing design competition Bole award, and the number of professional ranking colleges in China ranked the top ten in the year. 1999, 2004 and 2005 were awarded the "Education Award" by the China Institute of fashion designers for three times and the ten TOP University in the Chinese model industry in 2005.

Since 2000, our college has won more than 90 prizes in national and international professional competitions.

Among them, there were 9 gold medals, 8 silver medals and runner up, 5 bronze medals and third runner up, 30 excellent awards, and 11 "top ten models".
