China Central Academy Of Fine Arts

China Central Academy of Fine Arts is the only higher art school directly under the Ministry of education. It was founded in April 1950 by the national Peiping Art College and the three Fine Arts Department of North China University. It was named by Mao Zedong for the college. The history of Beiping art college can be traced back to 1918. By the famous educationist Mr. Cai Yuanpei, he actively advocated the establishment of the national Beijing fine arts school. This is the first national art education institution in Chinese history, and also the beginning of modern Chinese art education. Xu Beihong, Jiang Feng, Wu Zuoren, Gu Yuan, Jin Shangyi and other famous artists have successively held the presidency. The current Secretary of the Party committee is Comrade Yang Li, the incumbent president is Professor Pan Gongkai, a famous painter and historian of art history. Currently, the director of the academic committee is Professor Jin Shangyi, a famous oil painter.

China Central Academy of Fine Arts now has six specialties, namely, the school of modeling, Chinese painting, design, architecture, humanities and urban design. The Institute now has nine undergraduate specialties (painting, Chinese painting, calligraphy, sculpture, art design, fine arts, architecture, photography, animation), a master's degree awarding point of art discipline (covering eight two level disciplines), a master's degree awarding point for architectural two level disciplines (Architectural Design and theory), an art master's degree (MFA) professional degree, two Ph.D. degree awarding points (fine arts and Design Art), and an art postdoctoral mobile station in 2003. The undergraduate course covers nearly 30 professional directions, such as Chinese painting, calligraphy, oil painting, print, sculpture, mural, animation, graphic design, product design, fashion design, photography, digital media art, jewelry design, ceramic design, architectural design, interior design, landscape design, art history, art history, art management, design management, cultural heritage, Museology, art archaeology, calligraphy and painting appraisal, calligraphy and painting restoration. The college recruits secondary school students (secondary school), junior college students (Adult Education), undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral students and all kinds of advanced students every year. There are 534 in-service teaching staff, more than 3800 undergraduates and graduate students, and more than 100 students from over ten countries. China Central Academy of Fine Arts has well equipped classrooms, specialized laboratory rooms (laboratories), libraries, art galleries, gymnasiums, multi-media classrooms and other teaching facilities. The specialized laboratory (Laboratory) has complete equipment and high technical content, which effectively supports the professional teaching and discipline construction of our institute. The library is one of the most advanced art library in China, with nearly 400 thousand books. There are precious collections in art collections, including more than 2000 scroll paintings since Ming and Qing Dynasties. The museum also organizes regular exhibitions of teachers and students, and hosts fine arts exhibitions at high academic level both at home and abroad. Besides, the gymnasium and multi-media classroom can meet the teaching requirements well. In addition, China Central Academy of Fine Arts has published, published and published two national academic journals, art research and world art.
The teaching and research area of China Central Academy of Fine Arts covers an area of 495 mu, with a total construction area of 247 thousand square meters. The Wangjing campus covers an area of 205 Mu and a building area of 144 thousand square meters. The Yanjiao campus covers an area of 205 Mu and a building area of 68 thousand square meters. The post Sha Yu campus covers an area of 67 Mu and a building area of 29 thousand square meters. The Xiaoying campus occupies 18 Mu and the construction area is 6 thousand square meters.
Since 2004, the Institute has tried out the teaching management of credit system and the new teaching institute calendar. It has 38 teaching weeks each year, which is divided into three semesters. The 20 week of the first semester mainly arranges compulsory courses provided by schools and professional colleges. The 10 semester of the second semester mainly arranges professional courses and out teaching courses. The 8 week of the third semester mainly consists of professional elective courses and public elective courses, and students can independently choose interdisciplinary courses according to their hobbies and professional development needs.
