The predecessor of the College of art was a two-year specialist in costume design and technology, which was administered by the Academic Affairs Office in 1993. In order to enhance professional construction and management, the Department of art was established in 1995. After 6 years of construction and development, in order to meet the needs of China's educational system reform and the development of Vocational and technical education, in 2001, the Department of art was revoked and an Academy of fine arts was set up.
Our institute has a clothing department, an art department and a music department. After 14 years of construction and development, there are now 4 undergraduate and 8 professional directions. They are: the Department of clothing designs clothing design and craft education (including fashion design and fashion show two directions); the Department of Fine Arts set up a major in decoration design and Technology Education (including two directions in graphic design and art design), Fine Arts (including oil painting and Chinese painting); and music department has a major in music (including vocal music and instrumental music). 8 teaching and research sections are set up: the public art teaching and research section, the fashion design teaching and research section, the clothing technology teaching and research section, the fashion show and dance teaching and research section, the decoration design teaching and research section, the art teaching and research section, the vocal music teaching and research section and the instrumental music teaching and research section. There are 6 kinds of laboratories: central laboratory, clothing professional training room, clothing material laboratory, computer aided design room, instrumental training room, ceramic art and sculpture studio.
The central laboratory carries out unified management of all the laboratories of the Art Institute. The clothing professional training room includes garment technology training room (1, 2, 3), garment professional training room (1, 2), clothing training room, weaving training room, dyeing and weaving training room, body training room, etc. the computer aided design room includes graphic design room, computer aided design room, large color spray room, mounting room, etc. the instrumental training room includes piano room, instrumental training room, dance training room, digital electronic piano room, etc. There are 6 professional studios.
