How To Manage The Focus Exhibition Hall

There will be exhibitions in every region, but in addition to several large central cities, most of them are inadequate markets.

Each year, there are three or five exhibitions to be held in these regions. Whether the government is dominant or the market is dominant, a small number of poor exhibitions can not meet the needs of the local exhibition hall.

We might as well change the way of thinking: is the exhibition just the concept of an exhibition hall?

Can it also be a place for leisure sports, or a theater?

This may be a blow to the professionals who specialize in exhibition management.

The exhibition hall is "abandoning" the exhibition, and has begun to diversify.

In some places where there are needs for exhibition, but the demand is insufficient, the construction of the exhibition hall should also change thinking. Don't just think "we have an exhibition of 100 thousand square meters, so I should build a 100 thousand square meter exhibition hall". After all, an exhibition is impossible to feed the entire exhibition hall.

When we build exhibition hall in such areas, we might as well boldly break up the 100 thousand square meters and adopt a flexible way of operation, that is, diversification.

Taking Wuhan International Convention and Exhibition Center as an example, the annual report of Han group of Listed Companies in 2003 shows that Wuhan International Convention and Exhibition Center realized 6 million 303 thousand and 300 yuan from January to June, losing 13 million 706 thousand and 900 yuan.

The Convention and Exhibition Center, which is stuck in the "capital, interest and depreciation", is looking for more exports.

According to Yao Xianhua, managing director of the center, after taking a diversified operation, the business situation of the center has been fundamentally changed. The main business scope includes four aspects: exhibitions, conferences, comprehensive (including advertising, sports, squares, etc.) and commerce. Relying on the first three parts, the company has already completed its own profits and losses, and has undertaken all the principal, interest and depreciation.

This situation is rare in other cities in China, and more museums are enjoying various government concessions and relying on various hidden subsidies from the government.

It is understood that the structure of Wuhan International Convention and Exhibition Center not only includes exhibitions, conference venues, but also cultural square, underground shopping center and sports activity center.

Perhaps such a structure will lead to insufficient exhibition area of the Wuhan International Convention and Exhibition Center, and some large exhibitions can not be held locally.

But for some of the exhibition market demand is insufficient, the second tier exhibition cities, such a structure of venues, or this diversified operation mode, should be a wise choice.

Under the planned economy system, is the exhibition hall more than public facilities?

The basic task is to provide public welfare exhibition services for the public.

After changing from the planned economy to the market economy, why can't the function of the exhibition hall continue to open up in the market economy environment and go out of the simple concept of exhibition to meet the needs of the market?

No one will say that this is not possible. The key question is a change of thinking, which is an operable mode.

To realize the versatile functions of the venues and realize the diversification of the exhibition hall may be the future direction of some pavilions.
