    Nanofibers

Professor Lin Liwei and his team from University of California at Berkeley in Taiwan have developed a new type of nanofiber, which is expected to be made in 3-4 years. Intelligent power generation clothing Act as a small Electronic product Charger.

Lin Wei, a graduate of National Tsinghua University, came to the United States in 1999 and is currently working in the Department of mechanical engineering, Berkeley. He and Wang Junbo, a visiting scholar from the Electronic Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, have formed a research group. After a year and a half, the most advanced power generation nanofiber has been developed, with a diameter of 1 microns, about one percent of human hair.

Lin Liwei, who was interviewed by China News Agency on 12, said: "this nanofiber can convert mechanical energy into electrical energy with a conversion rate of 20%. It is the most efficient material with known conversion efficiency."

"What kind of impact will this new material have on human life?" explains Lin Wei Wei. "The diameter of ordinary textile fibers is 10 microns and nanofibers are only 1 microns. If this fiber is woven into textiles and made into garments, people can generate electricity when walking and moving. The faster we move, the more power we generate. In the future, no charger is needed to recharge the phone, and the electronic watch does not need to change batteries. "

Lin Liwei became the "intelligent product" of this kind. Nanofibers It can also be implanted into the body. "Heart patients with heart rate regulators need not worry about the danger of not calling."

Two years ago, Professor Wang Zhonglin of the Georgia Tech Institute developed nanofibers that could generate electricity. Compared with the results of the Lin Liwei team, Wang Zhonglin uses inorganic materials such as Zinc Oxide, while Lin Wei uses organic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). Lin Liwei said that inorganic materials are more fragile and difficult to generate large amounts of electricity.

Lin Liwei said: "if you get financial assistance, smart power clothing is expected to be available in 3-4 years."
