Agnes, a French fashion research expert, has conducted a week of research on China's textile city site, and wrote a thought-provoking diagnostic report and issued a prescription for solving the problem.

Agnes is the creative director of Style-Vision Design Trend Research Institute in France. He is the international jury of the sixteenth China Cup International Costume design competition. On the day of the launching of the "China Cup" in July 18th, Agnes was invited to Keqiao.

With her instinctive enthusiasm for fashion industry, she was accompanied by Fu Jiong, director of the Department of industrial design of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of design and media, and director of color innovation center of China Fashion Color Association.

The two surveyed 6 professional markets such as Dongsheng Road market and united market, visited 8 local well-known traders, visited 4 representative production enterprises, and visited several department heads.

In the report, she marvelled at the huge scale of the textile industry in Keqiao, forming a world-class market and driving the huge textile and garment manufacturing industry, forming an industrial cluster.

As for the problem, she is equally outspoken. She said, "this huge industry is still wandering at a low level, and there is a big gap between the trend of the world and the world. If we do not upgrade the industry overall, with the loss of its cost advantage, we will gradually show the characteristics of the sunset industry".

The report is like a doctor's diagnosis. There are a lot of questions to wake up the narcissistic Keqiao producers and traders, including ten aspects: no clear design strategy, no brand differences, outdated products, disorderly display, homogenization of style, and professional language is not standardized. Agnes recorded and analyzed them one by one.

Finally, she concluded that "to go abroad is not internationalized. Only by reaching international standards and widely recognized is internationalization. Shaoxing's textile industry is still hovering in low price competition. Product innovation and R & D are passive, trade and service standards are low, products are in the state of" scouring goods ", services are at the level of" receiving orders ", and there is no ability to offer solutions to fashion design circles, nor are they able to take the initiative to get close to the world's popularity and provide superior products and services.
