China'S Garment Enterprises Adjust Strategy And Take The Road Of High-End Development
In recent years, the impact of the international financial crisis on garment production and processing enterprises in Malta is quite serious. Most factories are running out of money and shrinking orders, which are hard to sustain, falling down like Domino. At present, the factory that stands alone is only the Chinese enterprise of Lai Si garment factory. The reason for its successful operation is to adjust the strategy and take the road of high-end development.
Reporters recently interviewed Laixi garment factory in Malta. Han Bin, general manager, said in his office that the 1986 of laixie factory was registered locally as "Malta Laixi Garments Co., Ltd." and began to cooperate with local companies, and later became wholly owned Chinese companies. At that time, Malta was an important garment processing base in the world. There were hundreds of related enterprises.
Han Bin said that after Malta's accession to the European Union, the local cost has been rising, and the clothing quotas between China and the EU have been gradually reduced and cancelled according to WTO rules. After the outbreak of the international financial crisis, the garment industry customers were greatly affected, the number of orders dropped sharply, the clothing industry declined, and the past was no longer brilliant. Many manufacturers couldn't resist the pressure and had to close the door. Although the Laixi factory is still barely supporting, the pressure of loss is increasing.
However, the grim situation has also brought opportunities for the Lai Si factory. In fact, the company adjusted its development strategy before the outbreak of the financial crisis and decided to enter the high-end market in Europe. In the first quarter of last year, the technology transformation was completed with us $1 million, which increased the production capacity by more than 30%. It became an enterprise with medium and high grade modern production lines, which could design and enter the European market.
Han Bin said that the group of customers in the past mainly concentrated in the United Kingdom, has now expanded to Germany and Italy. Recently, Laixi factory has won the favor of Armani, a famous brand in Italy. "The other side thinks that we are accurate in the sample and meticulous in making the work. We will incorporate the 3 styles of trial production into the main series of its autumn and winter 2011."
What is the advantage of lyse? Han Bin pointed out that the key lies in Chinese workers. He said there were more than 20 Chinese workers at the time of the start of his business, and the number of Chinese workers continued to increase, now reaching more than 120, mostly skilled workers. "Now, whether in Malta or in China, it is becoming more and more difficult to find skilled clothing workers," Han Bin said with emotion.
He said that the traditional advantages of the Chinese workers in Laixi factory are hard work, hard work, flexibility, efficiency and excellent technology. Because many workers have worked in domestic enterprises and have rich experience in practice, some of them have important clothing cutting and sewing techniques.
In about 400 square meters of clothing workshop, the reporter saw skilled workers in front of the computer skillful operation, garment workers meticulously processed in different machine equipment, Chinese workers and Malta workers in English to discuss technical details. Han Bin said recently that the government has approved Laixi factory to use the land near the garment factory which has been closed down. The factory will be expanded by 1500 square meters and the number of workers will reach 200.
Looking back at the development history of lydse, Han Bin said that in the past 20 years, the factory has mainly used secondhand order processing, and the customers have gradually developed from the low-end market to the high-end market. "As a Chinese clothing enterprise, the products we produce can reach the high end standards, and are recognized by the world's top brands, and entering the supply chain of others is really not easy."
The difficulty of enterprising always exists. Han Bin said that with the continuous growth of costs, enterprises must take a road to the development of high quality and high added value products and "reduce costs through economies of scale".
At this stage, the Laixi factory still needs to turn around and lose profits, so it has to "make a wedding dress". Can we try to launch our own brand? Han Bin did not hesitate to say that, as he tried to increase the high-end orders and make OEM processing, he set up his own technological advantages and eventually launched his own brand.
Han Bin's ambition is to register his brand in Europe and sell it back to China by absorbing local resources. "We will walk in two markets, both for Europe and for domestic supply. In the future, we will rely on the domestic market and occupy the market with our high quality brand."
