According to the reporter's understanding, there are three main reasons for the decline of cotton planting area: first, local cotton is mostly planted with seedlings instead of seedlings. The planting efficiency is low, and the growth cycle of cotton is longer. Later pests and diseases are frequent, which is extremely time-consuming.

Therefore, even if the cotton price is higher and the planting income is slightly higher than that of wheat, corn and other crops, farmers are unwilling to grow.

At the critical period of cotton growth, the delegation conducted a field survey of cotton high yield demonstration field in Fugou county.

The cotton variety of the demonstration field is Henan Za 37. In normal years, the yield of lint is about 100 kg (about 70 kg to 75 kg), and the cotton bolls are about 28 to 30 per plant.

There are fewer cotton diseases and insect pests this year. At present, the cotton growth in this plot is good, and the plant height is generally around 1 meters. However, due to the high temperature in the early period, the bolls and bolls have been affected, and the cotton bolls in each cotton plant are now about 15.

If the weather conditions are good in the later period, especially in the next 40 days, it will be very conducive to the formation of peaches on the top, and finally the cotton bolls are expected to reach more than 30.

In the process of investigation, local cotton workers repeatedly stressed that cotton production has entered the most critical period. The next 40 days will play a decisive role in cotton production in the new year.

It is also estimated that the purchase price of the new cotton market may be 3.5 to 3.8 yuan / Jin, which is equivalent to 16500 yuan / ton of lint.

Once again, the State Reserve stores 600 thousand tons of cotton in the near future, and only 700 thousand tons will remain in the national cotton stocks.

The rise in cotton prices is not what cotton companies want. Cotton prices are passive, and rising is not a normal phenomenon. It is only a special case.

For the sale of state cotton and cotton, Liu Zhong thinks that the price of late dumping will be maintained at 17000 to 17500 yuan / ton, but high-grade cotton is still in demand, especially Xinjiang cotton, the price may reach 18500 yuan / ton.

"Xinjian cotton, 60% of cotton, 30% of imported cotton and 10% of local cotton."

Liu Zhong said that the proportion of cotton used locally is not high because the quality of local cotton is not high, and an important factor affecting the quality of local cotton is variety.

It is understood that there are dozens of cotton varieties in Fugou County, and the small-scale cultivation of cotton has seriously affected the optimization and upgrading of varieties and quality.
