In Confucius's view, managers can only manage others well if they manage themselves well: "they are right and they are not allowed to act; they are not right, but they do not follow."
A man can manage the country well only if he manages himself well: "repair oneself to respect", "repair oneself to secure people", "repair oneself to secure people".

Confucius's thought of managing internal control by virtue of morality

Matsushita said, "when you have 100 employees, you are on the front line. Even if you shout at them and beat them, they will follow you.
If the group is increased to 1000 people, you don't have to be in the front line, but in the middle. When the organization increases to 100 million, you stand behind the authority and thank the people ahead.
The gratitude here is to call employees in virtue.
In Matsushita's view, the key to maintaining corporate control depends on shared values. Therefore, he repeatedly warned his subordinates: "if you make a mistake for being honest, the company is very tolerant. We should treat this mistake as a tuition fee and learn from it, but if you deviate from the basic principles of the company, you will be severely treated."
Confucius is in the book of rites.
In "Yi Yi", he said: "the husband and the people teach the virtues and the rites of the people."
What does it mean, that is to say, if the common people guide them to influence them with morality, and then reorganize them with rites, then they will be able to convince you, close to you, yearn for you, obey you from the heart, if you use them to induce them, and punish them with severe punishment, they are not escaping or evading, they are going to drill the loopholes of the law.
Escape from success, they will not only feel ashamed, but will be complacent.
This does not have the fundamental purpose of management.
Therefore, Confucius advocated the rule of virtue in his life.

The story of political science records a story: Confucius's student road was ordered to govern Pu county. When he took office, he went to see Confucius and asked for the way of administration. Confucius said, "this place in Pu county is very tough, and it is not easy to govern.
But please remember my words: good faith can be used to govern warriors.
Being generous and just can accommodate the masses; diligence and honesty can get the trust of the superior. "
When Zi Lu came to power, he kept firmly in mind the teacher's instruction, strictly demanded himself, and influenced the people of Pu county with his exemplary moral behavior, thus making this difficult place to manage well managed.
In modern management language, Confucius's "virtue of Tao" means that managers can instilling certain values into the minds of members of their organizations through their exemplary behavior, and turn them into conscious actions from the heart.
