Sichuan Dazhu CPPCC Held A Forum For The Ramie Industry To Overcome Difficulties And Make Suggestions

Dazhu County, with the reputation of "China's Ramie", is rich in ramie, which has the best quality in the country. The area and output of ramie rank first in the country.

After years of cultivation and development, the whole county has basically formed an integrated industrial chain of planting, buying and selling, and producing and selling hemp products. It has become a pillar industry of the county's economy.

Dazhu county has become an important base for ramie planting and textile processing in China. Ramie, which is known as "Chinese grass" by foreign countries, has become the "China treasure" of Dazhu's farmers.

The world financial crisis since 2008 has swept the world. The ramie industry, which is mainly exported to Dazhu, has been impacted unprecedentedly. A large number of textile enterprises have stopped production or gone bankrupt, and a large number of workers have been laid off.

How to help the ramie industry out of the predicament has become the focus of the Dazhu CPPCC's participation in the central government's deliberation and administration.

In order to ensure the high quality of the forum, Dazhu County CPPCC has made full preparations: specialized statistics on ramie production, sale and inventory in 50 townships and towns of the county, focusing on 8 main producing areas; investigating and analyzing ramie textile enterprises in the whole county; especially digging up and summarizing the experience of Dazhu County, which has been adhering to normal production and operation; organizing relevant personnel to go to Hubei, Hunan and other places for on-site inspection, drawing on advanced technology and management experience of foreign enterprises; and inviting experts from domestic ramie textile industry and experts from textile industry in the province to give advice.

The exchange has formed many common understandings, such as increasing the quality ramie base construction, building the largest quality ramie textile raw material base in the country, finding out the development orientation and breakthrough of the ramie industry in Dazhu, focusing on the integrity of the industrial chain to focus on the upgrading of the value chain, building the semi-finished product processing base of the largest high-end textile and garment enterprises in the country, vigorously supporting the leading enterprises in ramie industry, helping enterprises to strengthen technological pformation, developing new quality products, promoting brand building, increasing core competitiveness, cultivating ramie related industries, improving the comprehensive utilization level and economic value of ramie, strengthening cross regional joint venture cooperation, strengthening the introduction and training of talents, implementing the policies of the state to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, encouraging and guiding non-governmental investment to participate in the textile industry, increasing credit support and so on. Li Zhixing, executive vice chairman of the Dazhou municipal CPPCC Committee, gave high comments to the forum. Participants generally agreed that the forum had made valuable suggestions for the revitalization of the ramie industry in Dazhu and achieved complete success.

Xu Guobin, director of the people's Government of Dazhu County, pointed out that this forum is an important event held at the critical moment of Dazhu's ramie industry facing difficulties, seeking opportunities and eager to help. It is very targeted and operational.

The county government will conscientiously absorb the opinions and suggestions of experts and CPPCC, seize the opportunity to further promote the development of the western region and integrate into the economic blocks of the hinterland, adjust the ramie industry structure, strengthen the base construction, intensify technological innovation, vigorously support the Dazhu textile industry, and recast the brilliance of the ramie industry.
