Poor College Students Sell Old Books And Start Businesses
In 2006, I graduated from college, and I was very laid back a month before graduation. After finishing my thesis, I finished my work and waited for graduation. I had nothing to do except internet entertainment.
Because my graduation thesis was about Internet advertising, I contacted eBay and Taobao.
At the time, eBay was still the oldest, and Taobao had just begun to win fame.
After shopping several times online, bored and curious, he opened a shop and sold his own textbook.
The situation at that time was like this: Graduates
textbook
On the sale of catties to management dormitory buildings
Guard
(usually 1.5 yuan a Jin) the doorman sells for 2-3 yuan in the doorway outdoor stall.
The guard collected a lot of books and stacked a large dormitory room. They sold it to some second-hand booksellers and sold them directly to the waste paper recycling station.
The school has sent us many useless books, such as our advertising major, because it belongs to the liberal arts college, and the teaching materials of the College of arts have also been sent to us.
Many textbooks are basically sold to doormen and are almost never used.
I could not bear to sell the book as waste paper, but I knew that the book could not be taken away, so I sold it online for a few yuan.
Just trying to hold on to my heart, I didn't expect to sell several books very soon after being on the shelves.
It is inadvertently known that many universities in China have just had a new policy in teaching materials: no longer forcibly issuing textbooks, students can purchase them autonomously.
So the market potential of this second-hand teaching material is huge.
Seeing this business opportunity, I acted immediately: borrowed the digital camera of my roommate, took pictures of the textbooks, and sold them on the Internet. Someone ordered me to go to the doorman to buy them again.
At that time, Taobao was trying to launch "making money and making money". I used it. Anyway, it was only after closing the deal that I received money. I did not need big cost. The selling price was almost the lowest of Taobao's kind, and the bidding price was the highest of all, so my books were ranked first in the homepage of Taobao similar products.
Every day, we can get a couple of books by making money.
However, only 20 days from graduation, there is no such opportunity out of the school gate. I feel that retail sales alone are still limited for 20 days, so I think of wholesale.
Why don't you sell it to your colleagues? Think of it! 06 years, Taobao did not restrict or punish the advertisement. It is estimated that the advertisement has not started to flood. So I advertised and sold my book sales colleagues. Indeed, some of the colleagues who used to do second-hand books find me.
They gave me some titles of the best selling textbooks, and if they could find them, they would buy them in large quantities.
I began to be very busy. I picked up books and picked up my friends to help me move back to the library. After I moved back, I had to take the wet cloth to scrub the dust stains on the books and to flatten the wrinkles. I really don't want to talk about it. After cleaning this whole thing, it is like a roommate saying, "Wow, this book has gone through your hands, the waste has changed to new products!"
Packaging and shipping, all of them have to be helped by friends. The book is really heavy. I can't move a few books on my own.
I walked in the pile of books bought by the doormen of the girls' dormitory and the boys' dormitory, and I fell asleep on the bed in the evening. I was tired but very fulfilling. That was really the most exhausting and fulfilling part of my college life.
After about 20 days, I got 2 big gains.
One: I made the first pot of gold in my life: I sold more than 500 books, and the net profit was about 2000 yuan.
Perhaps this profit may not be much for many people, but for me, who has hardly earned money in business, except for family education, it is a great fortune.
Second: these 2000 yuan are earned by empty handed white wolf. I realize that no capital can start a business!
I was a child of a poor family, and the cost of living was three hundred or four hundred every month when I was in college. When I was doing business, I didn't have a few dollars on my own. I could sell myself dozens of pieces of retail, but wholesale people entered dozens of hundreds of books at once.
Fortunately, those wholesale customers trusted me not to use secured pactions, but directly paid me for the purchase.
Before making the first pot of gold, I only thought about finding jobs after graduation.
It was the short 20 days of experience that changed my life.
I saw the potential of e-commerce and its charisma, and saw that I could start a business at the same low cost. So I decided to devote myself to this, and began my long and arduous pioneering road.
