The European Union announced the 3 trade relief decisions in the official communique of the day.
According to these decisions, the EU will impose a 22.3% anti-dumping duty on China's aluminum alloy wheels. The anti-dumping duty rate against sodium gluconate is as high as 53.2%. Only two Chinese enterprises are subject to a lower anti-dumping duty rate.
The EU's formal anti-dumping measures usually take 5 years.
The European Commission launched anti-dumping investigations on China sodium gluconate and aluminum alloy wheels in August 2009, which aroused serious concern from China and was opposed by many EU manufacturers.
The European Union also announced an anti circumvention investigation on China's fastener products on the same day, in order to find out whether Chinese exporters are going to export Malaysia to the EU so as to avoid EU anti-dumping duties.
A spokesman for China's Ministry of Commerce repeatedly stressed that the EU should not abuse trade remedy measures and encourage protectionism.
