According to Qiu Li, after the founding of new China, China has conducted two foot measurements.

The first time was 1965~1968, when the foot shape of about 250 thousand people was measured, and the series of Chinese shoe number and shoe last size were formulated, and the Chinese shoe number was unified, which provided the basic reference data for the development of China's shoe industry.

But the measurement is mainly adult, children are confined to primary school students, and there is no clear age segment.

In 2000, second foot measurements were carried out in China. Due to the influence of funds and measurement methods, the data selection and sample size of children's foot measurement can not meet the needs.

"This is a matter of great interest to the industry and society. The Liuhe children's industry, as an organization focusing on the development of children's business, has the responsibility and privilege to participate in this project." Chen Shuqing, general manager of Liuhe children's industry, executive director of China foot and child research database project, told reporters that in November last year, he organized the company's staff to take the first stop foot type sample measurement and collection in Quanzhou Quangang Tianzhu middle school.
