According to introducing, before 2010, cotton price operation has been relatively stable, but from the beginning of 2010, cotton prices began to rise all the way, reaching a record 33000 yuan / ton in mid November 2010, nearly two times higher than the same period.

Especially from mid September 2010 to early November, less than two months later, domestic cotton prices jumped from 18200 yuan to 33000 yuan, or 72%.

Since then, the state has introduced regulatory policies, and cotton prices have begun to fall back into the December, which has been hovering around 26000 yuan / ton.

But the price did not last for long, and cotton prices began to rebound in 2011. Especially after the Spring Festival, cotton prices were rising all the way. At the highest level, the lint price in Shandong and Hebei was around 33000 yuan / ton, and the price increased by more than 30% in two months.

Jia Shaobin said that the rise in cotton prices also directly led to the rise in clothing and textile prices and increased the cost of the island's spinning enterprises.

"The price of clothes this year can really be seen, especially for cotton, which costs six hundred or seven hundred yuan for a coat and three hundred or four hundred yuan for a shirt."

Qingdao textile enterprises find alternatives

Fang Yan, deputy general manager of Qingdao Textile Alliance Holdings Group Co., Ltd., general manager of trade department, said that because of the rise in cotton prices, the cost pressure of enterprises increased, and the final result could only be a terminal price increase. "All textile products have gone up, and our products have increased by 20% left and right compared with last year".

Fang Yan said that their company has developed multifunctional fiber instead of rising prices of cotton.

It is understood that cotton prices continue to rise, pressure on textile and garment enterprises in the island city, in order to control costs, many enterprises use polyester fiber and other chemical fiber raw materials as a substitute for cotton, to ease the pressure brought about by costs.

The large and medium-sized textile enterprises such as instant hair, red spinning and so on have stepped up development and pformation speed, and developed chitin fibers and other alternatives.

According to the test, the proportion of cotton and fiber used by textile enterprises in Qingdao, Weifang and other places has reached 5:5.

Many respondents said that the widespread use of alternatives also led to a rise in fiber raw material prices, ranging from a few hundred yuan per ton to more than 1000 yuan.

Forecast: cotton price trend is still very complex.

Why cotton prices are rising all the way? According to Jia Shaobin analysis, supply and demand is the main reason. "Cotton is still in short supply, which is the main driving force for cotton price rise."

It is understood that compared to 2008, China's cotton planting area decreased by 12 million 400 thousand mu in 2009.

According to the National Bureau of statistics, there was a difference of 2 million 690 thousand tons between supply and demand of cotton raw materials in 2009, compared with 6 million 260 thousand tons in 2010, an increase of 3 million 570 thousand tons over 2009, and a significant gap in cotton.

But with the export of textile and garment industry resumed, the demand for cotton increased greatly.

"In addition to the imbalance between supply and demand, inflation and the surge of hot money are all the reasons for the rise in cotton prices."

For cotton prices this year's trend, many analysts said bullish.

"Recently, cotton price has been a downward trend due to the turmoil in the Middle East and the earthquake in Japan.

But now the price trend is not easy to say, it is more complicated.

According to industry analysis, this year's price is on the rise, but it will not rise much. "Downstream products can not pull up, and cotton prices can not rise again."
