Over the past few days, the China Chemical Fiber Association has organized a forum on innovation, upgrading and development of industrial fibers in Yichang, Hubei, on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Specialized Committee.
When it comes to the problem of rapid growth in production capacity, some representatives are excited and several times at the scene.

Wang Yuping, Deputy Secretary General of China Chemical Fiber Association, told reporters that with the rapid development of production capacity, the market pattern of polyester industrial yarn has changed, but the competitive advantage of large scale mainstream manufacturers still exists.
If the overall profit of the industry in 2010 is still good, some of the mainstream manufacturers will have considerable profits due to their scale advantages, high product differentiation rate and good export conditions.
"It can be seen that scale and differentiation are still effective ways to maintain the competitive edge of Dacron industrial yarn enterprises."
There is no surplus in the production capacity of polyester industrial yarn. For this problem, the views of the industry basically fall into two categories: one is that production capacity is certainly surplus, even if downstream demand increases, compared with the speed of expansion of industrial silk production capacity, it is nothing less than "wizardry". The direct consequence of this expansion rate is that the profit margins of enterprises are compressed and the operational difficulties increase. The other point is that the expansion of capacity, relative surplus and relative shortage of capacity are the normal behavior in the market economy, which is determined by the profit driven nature of capital, and the large-scale development of many years will reduce the production cost and bring the price of products down, which is in line with the law of economic development.
However, these two views are based on a consensus that the expansion of capacity should be based on the full investigation of demand and the positioning of market segments, without considering the blind expansion of market capacity and overcoming long-term development space in a very short time.
Go to a wider field of industrial use.
Some people have dubbed the price of polyester industrial yarn as "the price of Chinese cabbage". It is a satire for the industry to sell such a product with its own diversity.

Jiang Shicheng believes that China's chemical fiber industry is currently facing double competition, a monopoly and blockade from developed countries at the high end of the industrial chain, and another competition from developing countries at the low end of the industrial chain, which will inevitably exacerbate trade frictions.

However, too many fields are crossed and too diverse, which makes the enterprises somewhat confused and unable to figure out where to start.
Li Lingshen, President of China Industrial Textiles Association, suggested that we should make a detailed and in-depth study of a certain field.

According to Li Lingshen, at present, industrial textiles are classified into "15+1" categories. They are widely used in many fields abroad, but their permeability in many fields in the country is still low. For example, only 20% of the surgical gowns worn by doctors are disposable industrial textiles, and others use traditional fabrics. For example, bag type dust removal materials in thermal power plants, the proportion of domestic applications is far below the international level. An important reason is that the quality of domestic related fibers is unstable, the life of dust bags is only about 1 years, and the international standard life is 4 years or more.

While the profit margins are shrinking, enterprises pay close attention to advanced technology and equipment to reduce costs, improve product quality and add value. On the other hand, they begin to reflect on domestic marketing methods and values.
The reporter once asked the person in charge of an industrial silk enterprise: "is it reasonable for the current industrial yarn price to be satisfied?" he replied, "dissatisfied but reasonable."
According to him, the price of polyester industrial yarn exported to foreign countries is higher than that in China. He believes that the competition in the domestic market is too intense, so there is "some confusion".
He also pointed out that under the background of large-scale capacity expansion, it is difficult to raise the price of industrial yarn to a more reasonable position.
In fact, reporters have learned that downstream enterprises are not happy because of the low price of raw materials, instead they are subject to customers, because customers will directly decide the price of products according to the price of raw materials.
The reporter asked another industry expert: "how big is the feasibility of talking about the brand in the domestic textile raw material industry? Where is the breakthrough point?" the expert said that under the current situation of oversupply, raw material enterprises are most concerned about the survival problem, and have not yet risen to the height of the brand and the modern marketing system.
"This requires a long-term process, perhaps in the past two years, the full release of capacity, the industry's new round of shuffling is coming, there will be a different situation."
Ye Yongmao, chief expert consultant of China Chemical Fiber Association, has repeatedly urged the industry to build a "three-dimensional marketing system", so that good products can sell good prices.
At present, some enterprises have realized the importance of this problem and made some preliminary attempts. Some enterprises have tasted the sweetness of brand effect.
But this is far from enough, because the connotation of brand is far more than stable product quality and quick reaction.
Modern values also need to be thoroughly practiced in polyester industrial yarn and the entire chemical fiber industry.
