Hattori Kitaro, the founder of SEIKO, is a top craftsman from apprenticeship. He complied with the trend of the reformist trend, firmly seized Japan's massive absorption of Western science and technology, introduced the tabulation technology, realized his ideal, created his watch Kingdom, and earned him the reputation of R, the king of Toyo.

Hattori Kitaro was born in 1860. After graduating from primary school, he studied table technology in Tokyo's Japanese Bridge and lower gate valley. In 1877, he set up a service department timepiece repair place at the residence of Beijing maochai. In 1881, Hattori Kitaro, who was only 21 years old, formally opened a department store in Ginza, which is the predecessor of SEIKO. At the time, besides selling watches, he also sold wholesale Swiss and American watches and clocks imported from Yokohama. Because of his good faith and trust from foreign firms, his career has gone smoothly. Hattori Kitaro, who was farsighted, bought a factory in May 1892 to set up SEIKO house, hired Yoshikawa Tsuruhiko as a technician, and began to imitate a simple clock, and successfully launched an American style wall clock sales in July of the same year.

In 1895, SEIKO house successfully launched the Japanese made TIMEKEEPER pocket watch, and its performance began to grow rapidly. The pride of the watch House of SEIKO house laid a solid foundation. By 1903, when Kim was 43 years old, he was honored by the Japanese press as the king of Japan's chronograph. The colorful Ginza in Tokyo has become a world-famous commercial center. And every time, the top four floors of Ginza and the department store will raise a long bell, and let the noisy street moments be immersed in tranquility. If you come to Ginza, I believe that you will stop your hurried footsteps and stop listening as people do, as if time is singing and the echo of history is the most memorable moment of Ginza. In the past more than 100 years, it has been standing in the Ginza with Guang Department store. It has become a spiritual fortress in Japan and one of the famous landmarks in Tokyo. In the 1894 years, Hattori Kitaro, the founder of the clothing department store, commissioned the redevelopment of architect Ito from the United States to serve as a Sales Department of the department store and set up the bell table on the roof of fifty feet, which became a famous symbol of Tokyo.
